one F in Fox Posted 30 November 2016 Posted 30 November 2016 Ndidi scored tonight, I bet that will make some people even more desperate to get him in.

Both excelled in their poor domestic divisions, both did reasonably well in European competition and both are very young. Hardly a 'joke' considering Amartey has been fine at home, it's been away from home where he's struggled. That's what you get with youngsters in the middle of midfield (Genk have won all but one of their home games yet lost all but one of their away games). His performances in the Europa League (Kante like stats for tackles and interceptions), the Begium press that I've engaged and asked their opinions. His willingness to drive forward, his range of passing (very accurate 20-30m range especially to wingers), his confidence on the ball (doesn't look down as much as Amartey), the scouting reports/videos (albeit tread with caution) and not forgetting 30 years of watching live football and 10 years of playing to quite a decent standard! I know a lack of vision and football IQ when I see it, I'd love Amartey to do well but he doesn't have the awareness necessary to be a starting midfield Premier League footballer. However that's not to say he can't be a decent centre back, you only need to see Huth and Morgan when they have the ball, that's an entirely different skill, with less emphasis on the qualities and quick thinking required in midfield.

So you've been watching Genk in the Europa League and you read Belgian newspapers? "Good one".

Or maybe his footballing knowledge is half decent, some people take a lot of interest in leagues aboard. Stats don't lie either especially in today day and age.

Kristof Terreur is one of the leading judges of the Belgium league (he's written articles on Ndidi if you go on his timeline) and players coming to the Premier League. The other guy is a Belgium football addict who's watched about every league game...

Stats don't lie either especially in today day and age. Stats can definitely lie, especially "in this day and age". Statistically speaking, Nemanja Matic is the second most creative player in the Premier League and Dante (the Nice centre half) is the most accurate passer in Europe.

I base my opinions on a whole range of factors and variables (used to be an odds compiler!), as you can tell by my previous posts. You are one pessimist aren't you? Cheer up, we're all allowed to have opinions, it's not really much of an ask to be better than Amartey is it!!! Some people, honestly. PS AKCJ I got revoked too, making me cry, pull the other one! I was up for more debate, perhaps a bit more to the point of course. And it seems like there's a number of people with a similar opinion about you. Enjoy playing the foxestalk 'Stalin' role. NOTE: just received this from a Genk fan...

The bet is quite pathetic really, are you going to post it to the 5000 people you follow on twitter again? Amartey will have to do some very good things to win back this forum. People don't like him and won't be changed. You're testament to that. I personally hope that if we do sign him that he is as good as (if not better than) Kante. But i've seen all of this stuff happen way too often (especially on here). 1) Lad clearly way too good for the shit league he plays in) 2) Big club comes in with berserk offer (are we really offering 14m for a teenager?) 3) Comes into big club, expected to be worth price tag. 4) Fans/hacks from said shit league say how good he is. 5) Lad fails to live up to hype straight away. 6) Suffers from confidence loss and form dips further. 7) Sold for loss. Happens at least 6/8 times a season.

He's playing forward balls to players like Hazard, Moses Costa who make unreal runs for him. Helps that Chelsea are often camped in oppositions half too, the way Chelsea are playing I can see it to be honest. Isn't shy of a forward burst either drawing players out we seen this in Chelsea previous title winning campaign. Nice play short possesion based football, Dante would have a high pass completion and accuracy. Tackles, interceptions and ball recoveries like Ndidi has though can you really moan? No.

No. Don't stoop to his level Ashley, you're more intelligent than that. I'm not saying that it's impossible that a player can have the stats that he does. Only that players often come out with high stats in areas that, when you watch them, they don't really perform in (thus stats lie). If you were to guess who Chelsea's most creative player was then Matic would be very low down on your list. You only need watch Dante play a game or two to work out why it's bizarre that he's Europe's most accurate passer.

Where have you gotten that Matic is the 2nd most creative player in the premier league? I've just put in a few players on the Squawka comparison matrix and they all have created more chances than him

I couldn't think of the right word, but Matic has the second most assists.I'd go with chances created if I had that stat off hand but ultimately it proves my point further. How good does a "chance creation" have to be to become part of the stats? Is it just someone passing to someone who is shooting? Is that a chance? Who decides these things? If player A makes two passes to player B with both passes putting player B through on goal is he less creative than if Player C plays 5 passes to player B when player B that lead to very difficult chances? Stats are very often meaningless.

TeslaFox Posted 1 December 2016 Posted 1 December 2016 According to a Nigerian news article, the Ndidi deal has been finalised at 15M and he has chosen shirt number 25.... Thoughts?
ealingfox Posted 1 December 2016 Posted 1 December 2016 Thank god there's finally an official Dreema account. I was getting so sick of all the imposters and parody accounts.
