It used to be so much easier when we signed midfielders from Forest, Derby and Villa. Now all we go on is trust and meaningless stats.

On paper he sounds exactly what we need, but on the pitch, well lets wait. Anyway nothings confirmed yet, If we believed every Nigerian website we'd all be broke.

Yeh, like that Kante bloke who no-one had heard of that we bought from somewhere in France!

My Mum has been contacted about having a Nigerian lodger. She lives in Oadby.

She's also been told that she's about to receive a bucket load of money but has to submit her bank details...

That's all we need, people telling us a new signing is as good as Kante.

That's him ****ed

we all need to give him a chance and so too does Claudio, who needs to play him to see what he can do and what he can bring to the team.it is no good buying these players and then not having faith in them. they've presumably watched these players know their strengths and what they offer so their is no excuse as to why they can't make the first team

Was hoping for someone proven. Is he gonna be good enough to step up to the premier league straight away? Probably not. Would of been better with Delph.

he might be good still feel like we need someone like Adrien Silva aswell with the class and experience at the very highest level. Just pay the full release clause and then we will have centre mid sorted with both of these. p.s i know nothing about ndidi just going on the hype .

Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal that former Chelsea ace Celestine Babayaro was the brain behind Leicester City splurge on Nigerian midfielder Wilfred Ndidi.

During the summer when the English champions lost N’golo Kante to Chelsea, Claudio Ranieri who is still very close to Babayaro after the pair first met at Chelsea, asked his former player to make a check on the Nigerian.

Babayaro who started his career in Belgium contacted close friends who are still residing in the country, and received glowing reports about the 19 year old before traveling down to Belgium to scout Ndidi himself.

The former Chelsea star now turn scout watched Ndidi play five times in Belgium before compiling a report to his former boss on Ndidi, which prompted talks between Leicester City and Genk a month ago.

An agreement was struck yesterday for a fee in the region of £15m for his transfer, which will be made official in January when the transfer window reopens for players transfer.

If we have signed him, he looks fantastic! Not only an interceptor but some Drinkwater-esque passing ability too.

At 19 we'd have to be patient with him but it's rumoured that many other clubs were sniffing around him including Bayern Munich.

Hope this deal is true as we desperately need a Kante replacement. No one will ever replace him completely but someone in that mold would still help us greatly.

lets be fair if bayern wanted they would get him. They are just in the amazing position that they can let young players mature at lesser clubs and sign them once they are in their prime.

Not naive enough to get carried away over a YouTube highlights video showing mainly Belgium league matches but... He looks exactly what we are missing this year.

People saying we need established players clearly have very short memories. Vardy, kante, Mahrez etc etc in fact when was the last time Southampton signed an established player and look at the consistent levels of success they have had over the last few years.

You know who signs established players? Crystal Palace! I'll say no more.

Based on the fact that N'Golo Kante is one of the best box to box central midfielders in the world.

I would think one very good reason we don't buy from florets' the sheep and that shite just off the M6. But I'm not going to spell it out.

I was excited when we were linked with Kante. That transfer went hot and cold a lot before it happened, but was very pleased when it happened (and then he surpassed my expectations).

I was excited when I saw us linked with Ndidi too. Hoping he can add some bite to our midfield.

Still hope we're after Silva too if I'm honest but I think this will be good business as long as he gets time to settle into the team.
