BenTheFox Posted 11 December 2016 Posted 11 December 2016 Fifteen games into the PL campaign and through the group stages of the Champion League. The question I want to ask is what do you think our best starting XI is? Obviously it's kinda difficult because we haven't seen enough of Mendy to really make a judgement on where he's at.
AKCJ Posted 11 December 2016 Posted 11 December 2016 Probably same as yesterday but with Schmeichel, Mendy and Drinkwater in for Zieler. Amartey and King.
GingerrrFox Posted 11 December 2016 Posted 11 December 2016 Schmeichel Morgan Huth Fuchs Albrighton Drinkwater James Gray Mahrez Slimani Vardy

Ted Maul Posted 11 December 2016 Posted 11 December 2016 Difficult to say, we haven't seen enough of Mendy to judge and I don't think 4-4-2 is our long-term solution, but haven't seen how we would do with a different system. I feel this could be very strong: Schmeichel Hernandez Morgan Huth Albrighton Drinkwater Mendy Fuchs Mahrez (free role) Okazaki Vardy Strikers are tough though. If Vardy carries on like he did yesterday, he'd be one of the first names on the team sheet again. I'd play Okazaki against the better sides for his defensive work, but they're easily interchangeable with Slimani- he would really benefit from Albrighton and Fuchs' crosses in this system.
Fox92 Posted 11 December 2016 Posted 11 December 2016 Too hard to make a "best" team when Mendy and James haven't featured and Gray plays 20mins a game.

If we were to play that system that's probably what I'd go with. Maybe Slimani for Shinji, but more or less the same.
SpacedX Posted 11 December 2016 Posted 11 December 2016 How about? Hamer Hernadez Wasilewski Morgan Chilwell Gray Mendy Drinkwater Schlupp Okazaki Musa Subs: Albrighton, Amartey, Simpson, Zieler, Ulloa, Fuchs, Barnes
Richard Posted 11 December 2016 Posted 11 December 2016 3 at the back? We haven't used that for what, over 18 months? How can it be our best side if half the team have never played these positions before? This isn't fifa
Buzzell Posted 11 December 2016 Posted 11 December 2016 Kasper Simpson Huth Morgan Fuchs Mahrez Drinkwater King/Amartey Albrighton Slimani Vardy
bovril Posted 11 December 2016 Posted 11 December 2016 Even after yesterday I think we're a better team with Okazaki in it.
Beechey Posted 11 December 2016 Posted 11 December 2016 I'd go with Schmeichel Simpson Morgan Huth Fuchs Mendy Amartey Mahrez Okazaki Albrighton Slimani Would be interested to see how we'd do with this. Relatively similar to how we have it right now, with Albrighton and Mahrez running up the flanks, and with Okazaki falling in behind the CF, only major difference would be the two DMs covering the back four. Alternatively, swap Slimani for Okazaki and put Vardy up front.

I suppose they're thinking it would get the best out of Vardy and Slimani. We'll never know unless we play it. It's kinda why I wanted to see us give it a go away at Porto, or at least try a different system. It was a golden opportunity to do so.

Gray had his big chance in Porto. He played the full 90 minutes, but did not really shine. He is a big talent, who needs time to adjust to top-level football. Right now, Albrighton is the better choice.
Guest Danny Clender Posted 12 December 2016 Posted 12 December 2016 Schmeichel Simpson Morgan Huth Fuchs Mahrez Amartey Drinkwater Albrighton Vardy Slimani 4-4-2
bpfox Posted 12 December 2016 Posted 12 December 2016 how about we wait till we sign 3 new players in the winter window, a c/half a defensive midfielder and a attacking m/fielder.

foxy boxing Posted 12 December 2016 Posted 12 December 2016 Kasper Simpson Morgan Huth Fuchs Mahrez Amartey Drinkwater Albrighton OKazaki(slimani) Vardy we need to see Mendy fully fit and playing to see what he can do Musa needs to do a hell of a lot more to get into the first team
