King Power or Leicester City Stadium

First it was the Walkers then The King Power now for sponsorship reasons it's being called the Leicester City Stadium.

What next.

Just for the record, when the new stadium was built Walkers agreed to sponsor it for 10 years, so it was known as "The Walkers Stadium". Towards the end of that period, the new owners brought the club and brought Walkers out of the contract and renamed it "King Power Stadium". That is, so far, the only change of name in 15 years so it's hardly like it's being chopped and changed every other week.

For CL games, because sponsored stadiums (from non CL partners) are not permitted, it is known as Leicester City Stadium.

Is it? Just CL isn't it.

Would prefer a name related to the history of the club or its locality, tend to refer to it as 'Filbert Way' myself.

Filbert Way as well.

Filbert Way is by far the best and most historic. It should be Filbert Way - end of. And a majority of fans, if there were to be a vote on it, would probably make that clear too.

As much as I love the current owners it would be the best possible gesture they could give to the supporters to give back stadium naming rights. We have plenty of money at the moment. King Power is on our shirt. There is no need to sell the stadium naming rights any more. That was a means to an end when we were in money trouble.

We DON'T NEED to sell our stadium's name any more.

Give us back our FILBO!

Rugby World Cup as well. Man City does the same cookie cutter (football team) arena when competitions they're being used for get stripped of sponsorship rights.

The KP is that it never had a real name though, only the two branded ones.

Filbert Way, as others have said.

I like the name because of the connection and history behind it. It has an original ring to it and is a pointer to our former home.

Current owners will never take King Power away from the stadium name. So don't get your hopes up lol

Did Filbert Street sometimes used to be referred to as the City Stadium, or am I going mad? Googled it to check and can't find a thing.

That was its official name.

Isn't naming it King Power a way of pumping money into the club & bypassing FFP regulations?

Even more reason to give back histroic name like Filbert Way!

We don't need that jiggery-pokery at the moment. We are competing fine as is money wise let's consolidate now what we have got - rather than go all out Man City.

I don't care. They are both pretty strong names.....

I just give thanks the sweet Lord we are no longer sponsored by Topps Tiles or by a certain vape company as one set of supports have recently found out can be arsecurdlingly uncomfortable.....

I give you the "Totally Wicked Stadium" https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2016/nov/30/st-helens-rename-langtree-park-totally-wicked-stadium-rugby-league

Though being able to vape in the stadium (without creating plumes of flare like vape smoke) is something that should be allowed all over the UK.

What kind of attitude is that?! They'd soon pay attention if we started shouting about it... I'd personally much much rather they give us naming rights back than the free beer or doughnut we get as a 'thank you'.

Don't get me wrong they are responsible for a lot, if not most, of what we've achieved in recent years BUT that doesn't mean they get to cheapen the club's history indefinitely...

what you want and what they can do/what they want are 2 very different things though.

I agree completely, but if we want the best players we can afford (or attract) I guess that's the price we have to pay

Am i the only person who doesn't care what the stadium is called? I've never lost sleep over it. As long as the team performs on the pitch, they can call it whatever they want as far as i'm concerned.
