Is it time for a new captain and who should it be?

I feel the curtain has come down on ol Wes.

he's over played and burnt out and simply cannot handle the situations thrown at him anymore.

his ability to organize and lead by example (corner stone of last season) has left him cold.

i know the team is lacking in many other areas too but the captaincy seems like the most important place to start.  Especially when our captain is struggling as part of a vital last line of defense.

i have my favourites for who should replace him.

thoughts?

Didn't we have a thread on this only a few weeks ago?

Edit: And there was a captaincy thread started yesterday as well. Obviously a popular topic

No, I am serious. The first two are obvious. But, apart from them I don't see any player with the qualities of a leader. Yes, he maybe new but he seems to care a lot more than most players in this club

No don't worry I know you're serious. Only the likes of you would be so idiotic to seriously suggest it.

Kasper. Morgan is comfortably our worst most out of form starter. How many other teams keep their worst player as captain?

Problem is we need other leaders on the pitch but everyone seems to have lost it. Fuchs, Huth, Drinkwater lately, Vardy - all people who set the example and showed plenty of passion last season.

Only one left is Schmeichel. I'd pick him any day of the week. He'll be off in the Summer though.

You suggested a guy that doesn't speak English captain an English club where most of the team, the manager, and the referees all speak English. And that's before he even gets on the pitch got berated Chilwell for no good reason on his prem debut.

He said it in an interview last month that he speaks French through an interpreter and isn't taking English lessons.

It was nothing but a suggestion. Maybe not the smartest but, just a suggestion.

Me too its weird seeing GKs as captains, and I don't rate drinky at all this season. So id have to say based on our current squad it only really leaves... Englands number 9, England Englands number 9!

My apologies if this topic had already been covered in the past.  Seems like with every crap performance from Morgan the spotlight is going to be on him.   I'm trying to think of another club that has experienced the same problem.  Only one I can think of is the Rooney captaincy situation for both England and Man UTD.  No matter how bad he got or how little he played managers just couldn't take the arm band off him.

Drinkwater is no better than wes morgan at the minute or am I the only one who see's all of his errors and bad mistakes, he is half the player he was last season and seems to be walking around with a chip on his shoulder. Maybe captaincy is what he needs to bring out the best in him again?

All the players look exhausted to me, the only one with any fight left is albrighton.

I think winning the title with such a small squad has took every last bit out of the players and finished some of the older lot off.

Agree Drinky has been shit. Loads of wayward passes, seems to lack effort, especially at the weekend, and can't find a through ball for love nor money, his main aim at the minute is getting the ball and lumping it forward. Hate to say it cuz I love Drinky but he is a shadow ATM.

Kasper. Goalkeeper captain works for Lloris and previously Oliver Khan. Most vocal player by a mile and leads by example.

Wes is done.
