Schmeichel masking an injury?

Recommended Posts

Anyone else notice Schmeichel looks like he might be carrying an injury/niggle? Winced quite a lot throughout the game, has also been a little off with his timing and jumping recently, which is a tell tale sign of a problem. Hopefully nothing serious, but it would be deeply concerning if Zieler has to step in at some stage.

Nah, just was a bit too late on that one. Probably coudn't believe the awful defensive display before him and forgot to react on bent's header. Shit happens even to the best.

Or people seriously think he could have saved any of Soton's goals?

Yeah I saw that too but then again he never asked anyone to take his goal kicks and he was comfortable in rushing out and kicking it clear, Maybe its just a conditioning thing after a while out from injury.

I think the first goal looked easier to save than it was, as it zipped off the surface and was right in the corner. Also, he didn't have the best view.

The second goal was just awful defending!

He did make a very good save late on, and luckily held onto it too as only their attacker reacted and had a tap in. Our defence and midfield are seriously not working hard enough!

Hopefully just paranoia, I couldn't cope watching Zieler with Huth, Simpson and Morgan again

If we're shipping about 2 goals a game at the minute it'll undoubtedly go up with that combo

Half the squad look overweight.

Drinkwater looks bloated and you could see Morgans man tits jiggling when he scored.

Can you imagine their life styles these days.

Did not think he was at fault for either goal. The first header although not travelling at speed was right in the corner on a slippy surface and his view might have been partially obscured and the second was simply poor defending.

They all look like they could do with a bit of conditioning and losing some weight. I was however generally impressed with our fitness as derby were shattered at 70 minutes and our lot weren't.

I'd prefer an injured Schmeichel than a fit Zieler.

Goes back to that joke of a preseason for me. I wonder if one of the reasons the Thais are being so patient is because that's their fault.

Seems slow to get across his goal these days - which was a key strength ..... Seemed to take a couple of short steps and then dive instead of making the movement with a  good long stride and dive - possibly a hamstring or groin injury stopping him?

Kasper often looks overweight. It's never stopped him being excellent.

Do agree that a few of them look a bit tubby though. And they are not playing excellent.

What a ridiculous post. You know nothing about football.

As he ran back towards his goal from the touchline in front of the Leicester fans in the first half, you could see

his flabby waistline wobbling. Not noticed that before!
