The rest of the players are having a whip round for him I think...

Anyone who refuses to play, except for a medical reason,  surely would be in breach of contract and you wouldn't have to pay them. Not that I know. As for Ranieri's alleged promise to him,  whilst the money aspect might tick the promise box, surely Ulloah would realise that he might not agree to sell him to a relegation rival.

Well Payet had to pay his wages back due to him refusing to play. I'm sure there's some sort of condition is his contract if he refuses to play.

Doubt it, Rudkin wouldn't do clever stuff like that...

Now you know what is going on in the dressing room and why the team spirit has been broken. The new arrivals.....

Thing is, is it all unprofessional?

FFS just get your head down for 6 months Ulloa, get your dozen or so more appearances, maybe more if Slimani is injured. Play in the best league in the world, get some minutes in the champions league, collect your very decent weekly wage and get the move of your choice in the Summer...

I honestly don't see the huge problem he has. Certainly not to the degree that he is refusing to play for us ever again. Bloody joke, 6 MONTHS FFS!!

Does anyone know the list of players who got new deals in the summer?

I wonder whether the huge gulf in wages between players that both played big roles in us winning the league, is causing a real moral problem.

I guess those who didn't get the new deals are on the same terms they had when first signed, so £25-30k maybe? Quite a difference to the £100k given to a group of others.

Not suggesting this is causing a rift between the players, but more so a resentment to the club management perhaps.

I think Ulloa's unhappiness here has a lot to do with feeling underappreciated and not offered new terms in the summer like others.

I understand the club's dilemma though, as Vardy, Mahrez and Kasper would all have left if we hadn't offered them those terms, and giving all our squad much higher wages would not have been wise.

Didn't he get a shiny new BMW as a fit of a bonus.....it'd do for most of us thsat are drawing somewhat less than the meagre 40k Leo is allegedly on

I think Ulloa is upset because he never plays when he's a ****ing good striker.

He should take a look at Benny then, as that is a player who never plays! Ulloa has actually been quite involved this season with 15 appearances in League/Cup and would have been more if he hadn't been injured last few weeks. I expect with Slimani struggling with groin issues too, that he will get another dozen or so appearances for us too.

Yes, he hasn't started that many games but he isn't a top Premier League striker who should expect to and if that is his thinking, then he needs a wake-up call. Even at Sunderland, he will play second fiddle to Defoe, and they are almost certain to go down, so Championship football next season likely if he goes there.

He should see out the next 6 months, try his best to make an impact when he can, and have a much larger choice of clubs to join in the summer, with our blessings too.

You would have thought those given big wages would give it there all, but they all look worse for it.

If this is the reason, the players who are displeased should look at themselves, and ask am I good enough to demand 100 grand a week.

Look at the spurs players, most of the squad if not all, are on less than 100 grand, but they have again put in a decent showing in the league.

Leo was a bit part player, and cannot demand anywhere near that of mahrez, but the issue for me is, neither vardy or mahrez are worth paying the reported £120,000 a week, for one top level performing season.

Neither were world class before last season, and we looked to have payed top level wages, for one season wonders, and players who have returned to what they were before, good players but nothing special.

I think the large wages are a reward for winning the league, and probably not mean't to be a reflection of the present situation.

doesn't the season finish at the beginning of May? He's got another 3 months here....making it an even more weird decision to leave...

That's why I am hoping he stays and he can see sense. We really don't need to add a striker to our wish list as well, with only 11 hours to go.

Problem is, he is going to have to swallow his pride and go back on what he said about never playing for us again. Maybe a financial incentive can help him

This dude who apparently makes over 3m a year (I couldnt believe that when I read it last year) will no doubt spring up and defend the player demanding we double his wages and send him to Argentina for a months paid for holiday.

Yes, we could have a whip round for him, the bucket will be empty, but he will gain a bucket.....

anyone else sick of spoilt footballers who refuse to do something unless they get their way! they are being paid handsomely to do a job most of us would love to do and yet if things don't go their way they throw their toys out of the pram until they get what they want! really bad attitude and totally sends out the wrong message to young supporters.

I find it annoying in someone like Payet's case. He just pointblank refused to play for West Ham, even though he was first choice and recently been rewarded with a nice new contract. West Ham did nothing to him to piss him off. Ulloa I can kind of have a little bit of sympathy for. He's watching a team he played a significant part in being very successful, struggle and he can't get a game. When he's asked to move somewhere that might allow him to perform the job he's paid to do, and all valuations are met, he's not allowed to do so. So he's seeing under-performing players start ahead of him, week in week out when he's largely proven his worth, and then he's been refused a transfer despite seemingly being surplus to requirements. I'd be a bit pissed off too.
