He's 20, he's playing a damn sight more than most (if not all apart from Alli) 20 year olds in this league. The idea that he's not getting opportunities is bonkers. Of which most have been 15 - 20 minute cameos. He's played 752 minutes (All competitions), divided by 90 is just over 8 games. He's only started 5 league games of which he only completed 90 minutes once. He needs to be starting and playing full games, especially when others who are getting picked ahead of him aren't setting the world alight.

Who is going to play him more than we are that are in a better position than we are? He is a kid and he is very, very inconsistent. Against Derby reserves he tore it up (and so he should) but lets start demanding he starts every week when he proves that he's got the ability and consistency.

Personally I think he'd probably been better off (improvment wise) staying at Birmingham playing week in, week out. Obviously i'm delighted he's here though...when he plays. Just to put another spin on it, does anyone think he's inconsistent, under pressure because his chances are few and far so when he does get a chance he tries too hard.

He gets so play with better player against better opposition. It was the correct move for him. He is only 20 aswell.

I don't think it's really got anything to do with whether we play him or not, if Liverpool want him he'll go to them. We can't keep hold of our best players or our young talent like we could with the majority 6 months ago.

But if Liverpool aggressively pursue Gray they will get him. Just make sure we get a decent fee for him. not sure we are in a position to be calling anyone out on their defense....

Yeah but you say it like everybody else is playing every game every week. Apart from Mahrez who is clearly on another level... Gray, Musa and Albrighton are being rotated. None of those three are lighting it up. This past two months or so Gray has had probably played the most out of our 4 wingers. Stats on playing time are a bit skewed because at the start of the season he wasn't getting that much time (barring his start away at Hull). It's just plain wrong to say that he's not getting chances right now.

Guest Col city fan Posted 10 February 2017 Posted 10 February 2017 I have every feeling that Gray is a very ambitious young man and is very very confident in his own ability. I'm sure he thinks he should be a first team regular for City. Hell go like a shot if a bigger club come knocking, I suspect.

I agree, Liverpool are way above us in the food chain and a chance to play at Anfield isn't to be sniffed at. He may not play regularly for them and may move on after a couple of seasons but that's how it us. If we go down there's a snow balls chance in hell we will keep him.

Lovejoy Posted 10 February 2017 Posted 10 February 2017 Being objective, given he's not a boyhood Leicester fan and how awful we are in attack, I reckon he'd be off to a Liverpool or Spurs at the drop of a hat. Real talent who I believe will do well wherever he goes, he'd definitely back himself to play for a consistent top 6 challenger.

He needs to be playing regular premier league football whether that is us or another mid table premier league team.

Ian Nacho Posted 10 February 2017 Posted 10 February 2017 I couldn't see it happening in the near future. A player at his age needs game time so if anything he would go to a club such as Bournemouth if he was going to leave, which I can't see. All that's going to happen if he goes to Liverpool is he will be on the bench all the time and occasionally come on with twenty minutes to go and play cup games, or he'll just be loaned out to Stoke.
brucey Posted 10 February 2017 Posted 10 February 2017 He might actually want to stay here now that he's been getting actual game time the past 2 months. Seems happy in training, and he's even finally changed his twitter profile pictures to a LCFC-related one in the past few weeks! I think the horrid experience he's had in struggling to break into the first team for an entire year will make him much less inclined to want to go through that experience so soon again at a different club. If we do go down he'll be gone though.
Joefox Posted 11 February 2017 Posted 11 February 2017 There is literally no point in him going to Liverpool .
Guest the fox Posted 11 February 2017 Posted 11 February 2017 He will be the main star after mahrez is gone. He need to be patient because he is still young and has a lot to pick up.
crazyleicester Posted 11 February 2017 Posted 11 February 2017 Lets hope Klopp is as successful in getting Gray as he was Chilwell. The reality is (and its one of the more uncomfortable ones we have to deal with as Leicester fans), our best players will always leave. You may get the odd loyal Chelsea stalwart or local lad at Liverpool and Man United stay at a club for most of their careers but it wont happen with us, well not if we are a prem club and the player is any good. Thats probably why Andy King is going nowhere The hope is that these players whoever they are, Chilwell, Gray, Ndidi, are so good for us that the mega offers will come in. That means they have played well for us and we make a profit. That will hopefully allows us to replace them and keep unearth some more jewels. In the meantime, lets sit back and enjoy these wonderkids and hope they develop into real top end players.
