only downside tonight for me, was amartey. he wasnt aggressive, didn't go in for tackles, standing off his man and letting him pick his next pass. he jocky's the opponent too much instead of getting in their face.

Monster performance by him tonight.

He was so aggressive. Won tackles and headers galore, but he also passed very well too.

Special mention to Drinky too of course as he was so much better with the ball.

If he continues to impress like this, then the big clubs will come knocking very soon!

He was the foundation for our game tonight. Protected CB and allowed Drinkwater to get his head up play, Fuchs and Simpson were able to play on the front foot too.

Liverpool were bad but we made the look terrible.

Always believed in the kid. Never proved me wrong. Hit the ground running and getting better game after game. Love him. Hopefully we'll stay up and get a hold on him.

Good performance tonight. He has the potential to become an excellent player for us. A different type of player to Kante but crucially he gets around the pitch and enables us to play a four-man midfield, which is unfortunately not the case with King, Mendy and to a lesser extent Amartey. His work rate and coverage of space allows Drinky more freedom to get forward (and score!!) Let's hope he stays fit for the rest of the season!

Imagine a midfield of Nzonzi, Ndidi 'n' N'Golo...

The opposition would n'ever get past the half way line.

Well I know what I'm doing on Football Manager tomorrow.

He's great.

But, last season, seeing an onrushing striker coming at Huth and Morgan did not worry me: I knew what would happen next, and who would do it.

We're no where near that, but with the possible exception of Gueye, there's few replacements I'd be happier with.

Walsh signing, right? ;)

11 tackles!

5 clearances!

7 headers won!

WTH... crazy stats...

His passing though, how he saw those passes and made them with just one touch is almost unbelievable. It was like watching a Cambiasso/Kante love child at times.

What Is this talk of a 30 million release clause based on? Be very surprised if any of our signings going forward have a release clause after the Kante and vardy Fiasco's in the summer.

Also Kante did not want to come here he was desperate to stay in France so we were probably in a weak negotiating position where as ndidi seemed keen from the get go.

I suspect Ndidi may have relegation clause as we looked like we could go down in Jan (still do)
