Kasper - 6 - Few nervous moments, both keepers dropped it. Poor kicking but a great save at either 0-0 or 1-0 from Coutinho.

Simpson - 8 - Mane in his back pocket. Absolutely solid.

Wes - 9 - Bullied Firminho. Never gave him a second on the ball.

Huth - 8 - A man mountain. Heroic with his blocks and headers. Should probably have scored to be fair.

Fuchs - 8 - Back to his best, defensively solid with great forward runs. Superb cross. Confidence back.

Mahrez - 7 - A few poor defensive moments. A few moments of magic. Liverpool trebled up on him. 6 feels too low, 7 feels a bit generous.

Drinkwater - 8 - Controlled the tempo of the game. What a hit son, what a hit.

Ndidi - 9 - Ngolo who? Makes his legs seem 8 foot long. Passing was, at times, out of this world.

Albrighton - 8 - Worked his arse off. Unbelievable technique for the assist. His old self.

Shinjii - 7 -  I think some fans underappreciate his technical skill. He's a yard of pace too slow at times but he put in a huge shift.

Vardy - 9 - Terrier. Was absolutely shagged after 85 minutes but still chased everything down. Two great goals.

Amartey - 6 - Shored things up, quite like the idea of him coming off the bench like that and sitting infront of the back 4 with Ndidi and Drinkwater in front.

Gray - 6 - Never really got the ball. Great break. We need to look after him.

Chilwell - N/A  - Surprised they made that sub and not Leo/Slim for Vardy.

 

Shakey - 8 - Clearly rallied the troops, had us playing in Liverpool's faces. He's clearly loved at the club. Give it to him till the end of the season then reassess.

Schmeichel 8 Several good saves, confident command of area, one fumble

Simpson 8 Solid organised team defending, better interventions & clearances

Morgan 8 Dominant defending, tight organisation

Huth 8 See Morgan

Fuchs 9 See Simpson, plus excellent contribution going forward inc. great assist

N'Didi 9 One of our few good performers in 2017, upped his game still further - dominant midfield display

Drinky 8 Seriously upped his game, superb goal, should've had a second late on

Mahrez 7 Glimpses only, but good glimpses inc. great skill for 3rd goal & for Drinky's missed chance

Albrighton 8 Always works hard; has bad days, but this was a good one

Okazaki 7 Manic commitment brings comedy moments, but the team tends to look better with him in it 

Vardy 9 MOM (just in front of Fuchs & N'didi) Ran himself into the ground - but intelligently & 2 great finishes

 

3 subs: 6 All slotted in & contributed energetically to team, particularly Amartey (6.5 for him) 

 

Shakespeare 10 Much of that massive improvement obviously came from the players, but Shakey must have done a lot right to facilitate it.

Set up a highly-motivated, high-energy, high-pressing team that also played some good football. Also avoided OTT aggression (I had visions of a Vardy red card after 2 mins for a wild challenge - nope!)

If the performance v. Hull is remotely similar, give him until the season ends, then review.

To justify his place in the team he needs to either be a difference-maker or a grafter. He's obviously not the latter and is struggling to be the former at the moment.

 

Personally I thought he was no better last night than he was in Seville but he wasn't getting 7s across the board there because we took a bit of a pumping.

Fair enough. He wasn't the best on the pitch yesterday that's for sure, but I don't think anyone deserves a score under 6. Don't forget the third goal came from him and the gift to Drinkwater. Had Drinkygot it in, his job for the night would have been done.

Ndidi man of the match

Albrighton, fuchs, vardy and Okazaki had best games of season.

Simpson steady and reliable, did all the basics well

Morgan and Huth, looked more solid than they have for a long time, won everything in the air...Ndidi and then Amartey (steady as ever) protected them all game, as they should

Kasper made 2-3 great saves, nearly spooned on in but distribution poor

Drinkwater, goal aside he still looks way off his best, got better as game went on

Mahrez, remains an enigma, two great runs, first touch sublime but looks lethargic

Gray all the potential in the world but no end product

 

Shakespeare deserves enormous credit and give him the job till the end of the season
