That's because he's head coach and he'll know that all he has to be is good at his job and can pick and choose what he wants in life. As a manager, it's only one way, and that's eventually out the door. Although i do believe that if he whose name shall not be mentioned, had not had a son that was a fvck wit, he would have won the league and still be here, but that's only my personal opinion and should not be taken as a slur on anyone and not be held in evidence against me.

Think Shakey has just made sure he get's what he wants/protected himself which is fair enough, it's up to him to prove his worth now (Which he has done so far so hopefully nothing changes now! ) another way to look at it is if it hasn't been as simple as the owners had hoped it means they must really want to give him a go, they could have turned round and said we'll move on to other targets then (It wouldn't have been a popular decision but that option was there).
TheUltimateWinner Posted 11 March 2017 Posted 11 March 2017 Probably wanted a clause that states he's got the offer of employment no matter what happens at the end of the season. Ie. Either continue as manager or revert to assistant manager.
Ted Maul Posted 11 March 2017 Posted 11 March 2017 You would like to think there are assurances about his future in there. The issue could be that now he has had the manager role, albeit for a potentially short time, will the next manager want him around as assistant if he isnt offered the job permanently?

O'Neill was and still is a top quality manager. Would love to see him back here but the timing is not right as he will want to get Ireland to the 2018 World Cup. Anyway Shakey deserves his chance at least until the end of the season or beyond depending on how he does. And like most I will be right behind him.
st albans fox Posted 11 March 2017 Posted 11 March 2017 Rumour has it that it's tuesday (in case you don't believe the other stuff that said it's Tuesday!)
ktfox59 Posted 11 March 2017 Posted 11 March 2017 Does anyone know what time Tuesday? Hills close at 9 I think.???
LibertyFox Posted 11 March 2017 Posted 11 March 2017 I've just bought a new jacket on the back of my 18/1 bet on Shakey day after Ranieri left.... Announcement please!?
Thracian Posted 11 March 2017 Posted 11 March 2017 Pleased for the guy. He's been part of our success story and has earned his chance of promotion from within. What he makes of it is down to him and haviing satisfied the conditions of caretaker manager by winning the two games required his remit now is, presumably, to keep us up. Do that and I can see no reason he'd not get the chance to take us into the next chapter. Nothing is certain in football management whether someone gets promoted from a lower tier or we pick someone with vast experience so I've no predictions concerning Shakespeare but I'd like to sincerely wish him the very best in every way. I think he's the right choice - perhaps the only right choice right now - because of his immediately positive impact on the mood of the dressing room and that's important now and for the challenges to come next season and thereafter if we're to achieve our ambitions. There's still no guarantee concerning relegation but, apart from leaving the Ranieri decision too long, our owners have acted as best they could and deserve credit for that.

I've heard that he was in charge of tactics under Pearson, which worries me a lot, but after 2 good performances he's shown he can keep this team up and we need to do that. Of course, if he wins the next 11 we'd be mad not to review. Having won two games already, if Shaky keeps us up, I'd be appalled if he got demoted.

Jimothy Posted 12 March 2017 Posted 12 March 2017 Sky Sports confirm it's his until at least the end of the season.
