Shakespeare offered managers job

It was all sorted last week. But Shakey did not want the distraction going into a big game. I was expecting it yesterday. By the time they get back it will have calmed in the lead up to the CL game.

Any ideas on the in's and out's of the assurances and terms he is wanting?

I'm sure it's pretty cut and dry in terms of he wants assurances he will be given the job for next season in summer if he hits a certain targets this season/his job is safe (As an assistant) should they decide to get a new manager in the summer, although i'm not sure he'd be happy if they got someone else in the summer and I fear he could go in the summer should that happen.

Whilst this is the best option at this current time I do fear this is the start of the end of Shakespeare which i'd be gutted about.

Ins and outs of contract no. But he holds the ace dependant on results. Possible he could get a contract before the season ends.

All I know.

The players obviously respond to Shakey but we have yet to see if the 8-9 new players respond (Ndidi aside)

We need a new back four, Kasper likely to go, Marhez likely to go and question over Drinkwater.

He deserves have the job until the summer and be kept on as head coach beyond that.

The rebuild is a beast of a job and he needs all of his time on the training pitch doing what he does best

I really don't get this. He deserves the job till the summer then kept on as head coach.

With such grateful backing like fvck would I hang round.

Keep us up Craig then be fvck all.

Sorry LCFC fans fvck off you ungreatfull cvnts.

Exactly why i'm fearing this is the start of the end, I can see this happening or being asked of him which of course I wouldn't expect him being best pleased with (I wouldn't be) and what I think will be the assurances and terms he is asking for.

On the other hand it is a massive rebuild job in the summer, I just hope he has the contacts and knowhow of working under Pearson to do such a rebuild (Which i'm sure he does have).

But that's to worry about and a bridge we have to cross in the summer, For the moment though thank-fuck it's not Woy! (For now )

Great news about Shakey. Top priority is keeping us in the league so I guess he's fully focused on that.

But I wonder what plans the club has regarding who will be making the signings this summer. They'll already have targets, obviously. But will Shakey be consulted about who to bring in? I'd like to think so as I hope he'll stay here beyond the summer either as manager or assistant.

Or will it just be Rudkin and Macia working on transfer deals?

Sensible move really, should have enough to keep us up then look again in the summer. Been with us a long time and has clearly made a good impression.

May as well focus on the short term, get survival wrapped up ASAP so gives both sides chance to assess what happens next. Shakey may find that being number 1 is not his preference, now he'll get a chance to see how he gets on

So if we end up doing ok in the league and progress to the QF of the champions league, would he not deserve it permanently

I think a lot will depend on how we do it, I think the team need to be playing really well and not just scraping results!

I think we would have to finish between 10-12, with a number of good performances and qualifying for the QF and putting up a good performance in the QF.

Anything less I think they will be looking elsewhere!

If he keeps us up and maintains performance levels he deserves the job indefinitely.

We've seen the effects of undoing a winning formula this season, we really wouldn't do the same again this summer would we?!

13 game trial for both. Assess it at the end of the season but no reason why we shouldn't keep him on if the 13 games go well, unless an outstanding candidate is available...which I don't see. Wagner and Rowett were assistant managers not so long ago...

Someone might explain to me what Shakespeare can't do that some smoothie like Woy (the whys?) can.

Sven was another. What is it that people see in them that seems to set them apart from others who've also had moments in the sporting sunshine?

I may be completely wrong/wong/whatever but I couldn't imagine wanting to play for either.

Which reminds me - what's happened to the Foxestalk football team? Are they all so old now they're playing golf?

If Shakey keeps us up he can't lose really. He's made it clear that he wants to be a No.1 and if we don't offer it him permanently in the summer, I'm sure they'll be championship clubs prepared to give him a managers job. Either way if he keeps us up, his days as an assistant manager could be well over...

Well to my mind he has a responsibilty to us fans to be brilliant and to keep us out of the clutches of the wannabees who have no more interest in Leicester than a whacking great pay packet.

Hmmm, he could still take us down, it's two games, the story maybe different at end of the season.

Do see any other Premier League club employing him as manager with no track record? No

I think he will be grateful to be given a go at this level!

If he does great, he is in the drive seat with regard negotiations for the LCFC job and has a CV which now including being a PL manager.

If he bombs, he will be looked after by the club, he's in a win, win position!

Average 2 points a game over your 13 game trial period Shakey (getting us to 47 points) and they'll be a nice 3 year deal on the table in the summer for you and £50m transfer budget PLUS money from any sales.

Should keep him motivated to keep the boys playing until the last kick of the season.

Oh, and may as well throw in a £2m bonus for champions league final while we're at it :)

Matt he keeps us up well with effort shown in every game he has my backing.

Why if he does a good job should he not get the chance.

Rather Shakey than some cvnt that don't care more than his pay packet.

That and I'm so going to love it when Shakey takes us top ten next season.

I think we all rate Shakespeare but the concern for me in his stepping up from no.2 to manager is that relationships with the players will have to change.  It is well known that he is close to the team and I've heard it said that he could be a stand up comedian.  From going from their mate to their boss and making all the unpopular decisions that goes along with that can cause problems and has done in the past at other clubs.

Good choice by the owners.

I'm sure they were tempted to get a big name manager in now, but judging by how well we have played under Shakey, it really was a no brainer.

I can forsee a situation where he keeps us up but still doesn't get the job full-time though. I think the owners are probably guilty of wanting a big name here.

If we have a very strong finish to the season though, then they surely will have no choice. Just stay up... and I'm sure a new guy will come in.

Oh no, I'm agreeing with you, he deserves a shot, what i'm surmising is how I fear the owners might look at it with their desire of a big name.

I think your missing my point. Yes he has a chance and having done a good job he deserves the chance.

My points the people saying let him save us then get a better manager next season.

With no hint of Shakey getting the job.

He's got a great chance to prove himself now. I hope the owners ask him to put together his vision of where he sees the club going as well. What we do about scouting, what other staff he needs etc.

If he puts together results and a convincing well thought out plan for our future, they'd be crazing to not give him a chance.
