49er Posted 12 March 2017 Posted 12 March 2017 Any thoughts on players who Shakespeare may wish to see the back of if he gets the job full time? Difficult to say, but first impressions are that he is not keen on Mendey and Musa. In terms of bringing players in, do you think he's more likely to go for those with a proven track record in the Premier League rather than those currently plying their trade abroad?
Wymsey Posted 12 March 2017 Posted 12 March 2017 Musa, despite his fee. Can't see him improving after making the same mistakes over and over again. One of either Morgan or Huth, consider their ages. Need new blood at CB and also RB in particular.
Fox92 Posted 12 March 2017 Posted 12 March 2017 Musa gone. He hasn't made two of Shakespeare's squads now. I wouldn't be suprirsed if he doesn't rate Musa and I can see why.
worthosoriginals Posted 12 March 2017 Posted 12 March 2017 Oh great, another, let's have a go at our players, whipping boy thread.
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 12 March 2017 Posted 12 March 2017 I'd actually be quite confident in Shakespeare's recruitment. He worked with Pearson and brought in some excellent players over the years, players who have delivered (think Cambiasso, Dyer, Vardy, Ulloa etc). I think he'd have a similar style of recruitment, but most importantly I think he'd bring in quality at the same time. With Pearson and Shakespeare they both instrumented a very strong back room staff, they worked closely with Steve Walsh and ultimately we had success with the trio working together. Knowing Shakespeare has worked with Walsh, I think he'd know what calibre of scout is needed, whether it be Macia or somebody else.
49er Posted 12 March 2017 Author Posted 12 March 2017 Would he bring back Knockaert, especially if Mahrez moves on?

Babylon Posted 12 March 2017 Posted 12 March 2017 Cool... another let's slate all the new players thread.
FLAN Posted 12 March 2017 Posted 12 March 2017 I don't think he will be the main voice in recruitment this summer. I don't expect this to be a long term thing
Clever Fox Posted 12 March 2017 Posted 12 March 2017 I think this Thread is a bit premature as I don't think Shaky will have much say unless he gets the job as Manager permanently.

Aus Fox Posted 12 March 2017 Posted 12 March 2017 I think regardless of they manager next season we will see a big turn over of players at the end of the year. Some moving on to better things: Mahrez and possibly Kasper. Some of our aging players replaced possibly Morgan, Huth, Fuchs, Wasyl, Okazaki. Some out of favour players sold I look at the players who haven't featured under Shakey will want to move on. A team next season will be built around Ndidi and Drinkwater in midfield, Chilwell and Amartey as full backs. Gray on the left wing and Seeing if a Vardy Slimani partnership can work. That will mean we need to bring in 2 new centre backs would love Gibson and Maguire a new right winger maybe Tom Lawrence and a number 10 if Slimani Vardy doesn't work out, maybe Knockaert if Brighton don't get promotion. A new keeper maybe go all out for Joe Hart.
gaz9284 Posted 12 March 2017 Posted 12 March 2017 Strikers: Bas Dost (Sporting Lisbon), Dario Benedetto (Boca Juniors) Midfielders: Adama Traore (Middlesbrough) very pacey, coaching staff maybe able to work on his final ball. Maybe Knocky. Defenders: New RB, Amartey CB with another CB buy.

Just needs to work on his final ball. He's only 21 aswel.

AmarteyAndChill Posted 12 March 2017 Posted 12 March 2017 RB-Adam Smith,Moses Odubabo,Kieran Trippier,Peter Ankersen. CB-Harry Maguire,Ben Gibson,Pontus Jansson,Michael Hefele. CM-Ronaldo Vieira,Philip Billing. RW-Adama Traore,Helder Costa,Leon Bailey. CF-Gaston Ramirez,Gylfi Sigursson. Just realistic options in positions I think we need to strengthen that would improve our squad and first 11.

Unbelievable pace, as I said, i think if the coaching staff work on his final ball, could be an improvement on the wings, mahrez very lazy or tired in the last two games

But Traore is the quickest player I've ever seen. Players just shit themselves when he gets the ball.

His latest contract probably has a "we'll let you go for threepence hapenny if Chelsea come dor you clause. Still can't believe Kante went for almost the same price as we got shitani for- I DO NOT RATE HIM! (hey, I'm gonna get slagged off now probably )

Devonfox1884 Posted 12 March 2017 Posted 12 March 2017 Trippier and Wimmer from Spurs would be perfect.
