gaz9284 Posted 12 March 2017 Posted 12 March 2017 Just now, MattCan said: Another joke of thread to take a dig at Mahrez and Musa. P*** off I haven't mentioned Musa so I don't know why you are mentioning him you tool. And Mahrez's performances have been either lazy or he is just tired from playing in the AFCON also, that's just the truth. Obviously you don't like the truth. But my opinion about Musa, as you mentioned him, he just hasn't got into it yet, maybe he needs a run of games to get really used to the pace of the premier league.. In the games he has played, he hasn't been very influential except for the Everton cup game. That's a FACT!

foxes_rule1978 Posted 12 March 2017 Posted 12 March 2017 Mahrez, Slimani, Musa and Mendy will go, massive loss but I think Drinkwater, Fuchs, Huth, Ndidi and Varrdy will all stay which is good for us. Gray can fill in for Mahrez I'm sure of it.. and a couple of good signings we won't be much worse off than we are now I'm sure of that ... and that is actually a good place to be.

foxes_rule1978 Posted 13 March 2017 Posted 13 March 2017 I would be happy if they did stay, I think each of them have a lot to prove and are far better players than what we have seen. Mahrez is irreplaceable I know, but gray is young and shown to me he is worth the opportunity, we just need backup for gray and a class playmaker

I just think Liverpool and Man City will be in for new keepers this summer, United too of De Gea moves to Real Madrid. For my money Kasper is behind only De Gea and Courtois as the best Keeper in the league, it is inevitable that one of the top sides will come knocking on the door for him. Would love to keep him forever as I love everything about him, but sadly think he will be on his way to bigger and better things this summer.

I actually don't think kasper will leave, I understand what you are saying and that makes sense that is for sure, but I think he wants to be part of something here that really appreciates him from the staff to fans... we can become bigger and I think he believes that too

I think he loves it here and understands how much everyone appreciates him. He won't get that at Man City or the like, look at hart tossed out despite being very good if not brilliant at times for a goalie that can't save a ball!

I get the impression that Kasper is one of the few players who genuinely cares about the club and its future (Simpson, Vardy, Fuchs too). I think he drove a hard deal in the summer regarding his wages in the expectation that it would be his last proper contract. Such passion he shows on the pitch, you don't get that with mercenaries.
CyprusFox Posted 13 March 2017 Posted 13 March 2017 Bring back Matty James. MOTM again at the weekend.

Suffers from the Schlupp thing and cant decelerate after his bursting runs and goes all off balance when he goes to make a cross or shot. Would take him though.

Despite coaching, many of them stay that way. The coaching system at Barcelona where he was for a number of years is none to shabby. If they can't coach an end product there and he's shown little sign of improvement at Villa or Middlesbrough, what is it that we think Leicester can do. Very easy to say 'get coaching staff to work on his final ball' but what magic is it our staff have that those others haven't? Meanwhile you become another of those clubs conned into another transfer fee and mega wages.

foxy boxing Posted 13 March 2017 Posted 13 March 2017 Shakes has clearly got a lot of loyalty to the players already here before Claudio brought in his players so you would expect players like Musa, Mendy and Slimani to be moved on perhaps while Mahrez may want to leave. Hard to know what players he would bring in and would they be his signings or the boards!

Slimani will go if a Chinese team comes back in for him and I can see both Mendy and Musa going if we find replacements that are better than them. Mahrez will 100% leave and will be a huge loss, but nobody is irreplaceable.

LittlethorpeFox Posted 13 March 2017 Posted 13 March 2017 Amartey isn't a RB, and he'll never be a first choice CM (unless we play a 3 maybe?) - so he either needs to shape up as a CB or he will forever be a Phil Neville at MUFC utility type player. Musa and Mendy I do not think will ever prove to be useful Premiership players. Musa is not an intelligent footballer, he has got talent but he's too unpredictable, i don't think he knows what he's going to do himself half the time. Can't see him fulfilling his potential here. Mendy is a cautious, ineffective, tidy crab passer, I'd much rather have Matty James back next season than persevere with Mendy.
foxes21 Posted 13 March 2017 Posted 13 March 2017 in terms or summer recruitment, our targets should be players with premier league experience & young players from the lower leagues with potential. Everton & Spurs done it recently with Lookman & Alli, so good buys can still be found. the reason i say this is because our signings from abroad in the summer left a sour taste in everyone's mouth. hopefully we have learnt a lesson. If there are any signings from abroad, I hope the recruitment staff are 100% sure they will improve our team.
foxes21 Posted 13 March 2017 Posted 13 March 2017 as for amartey he'd be the first player id loan out next season. give him a position, probably cb and let him play there for a full season in the championship. right now the lad is very error-prone plus inconsistent. a season loan to the championship would be beneficial for both parties.
ALC Fox Posted 18 March 2017 Posted 18 March 2017 I've been thinking about this and I reckon this will be the manager's biggest headache next season. Sure, Morgan and Huth have been immense the last 3 games but they're aging and have been awful at times this season. The way they've picked up since Shakey came in has been incredible, though. They can't just both be dropped in favour of a new centre back partnership. There are 4 good young centre backs in this league that we should be after: Keane, Maguire, Mawson and Gibson. Not all of them will be snapped up by Chelsea, Man City etc. One of those lot would be excellent and they should be phased in to the side so that Huth and Morgan get good experience playing alongside them and so that when eventually both Huth and Morgan are surplus to requirements, the new guy already has plenty of experience in a (hopefully) successful team that he can pass on to his new partner. I know it's probably way more complicated than that but that's how I'd approach things next season regarding the centre back situation.
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 18 March 2017 Posted 18 March 2017 I can see him James coming back, so not sure on Mendy's future. Musa too.
