foxinsocks Posted 16 March 2017 Posted 16 March 2017 This is outrageous - it should say "former Derby"... I hope Steve Gibson has his hard hat ready...
TheUltimateWinner Posted 16 March 2017 Posted 16 March 2017 Don't know if he'd give them the instant impact they need (which is good for us) however, if they appoint him, you could expect them to mount a good promotion push next year round.
BenTheFox Posted 16 March 2017 Posted 16 March 2017 Former Boro captain. Could see him being well received up there.
HybridFox Posted 16 March 2017 Posted 16 March 2017 He was an early favourite to come back here too. Wouldn't read too much into bookies. Wouldn't shock me at all if Boro ended up going back to Steve McLaren
Ted Maul Posted 16 March 2017 Posted 16 March 2017 Ticks all the boxes for them... His talented backroom staff have since moved onto bigger and better things than Middlesbrough though- not sure he would have enough of an impact on his own. Best of luck to him though, can't see them surviving at our expense with the way we're playing at the moment.

davieG Posted 16 March 2017 Posted 16 March 2017 The news the other day was that he'd applied for the Norwich job.

lgfualol Posted 16 March 2017 Posted 16 March 2017 Can't see him getting another Prem job for a while unless someone is truly desperate. Pearson will stick to a Championship team I think.

MPH Posted 16 March 2017 Posted 16 March 2017 I'm Wondering if Pearson without Walshy and Shakey is like MoN without Robertson and the other fella.

MPH Posted 16 March 2017 Posted 16 March 2017 Just now, Strokes said: Walford Thank you. Hope he doesnt read this as he will be devastated at being referred to as ' the other fella' I just couldn't remember his name..

crsleicester Posted 16 March 2017 Posted 16 March 2017 How dare the owner sack him based on them being shite, the ungrateful swine. He won promotion for them!!! Where's the liberal tard Lineker now eh?
Sharpe's Fox Posted 16 March 2017 Posted 16 March 2017 Love Nige me and I like Boro so I'm hoping we see it. Palaces fixtures are grim so anyone has a chance.
Izzy Posted 16 March 2017 Posted 16 March 2017 I think he'd be a perfect appointment for them at this time. So much so I've just stuck £20 on it @ 2/1
Izzy Posted 17 March 2017 Posted 17 March 2017 Pearson has now drifted from 2/1 to 4/1. So I've had another £20 on him at these odds. For some reason I'm just convinced he'll get the job

Guest CityFan 06 Posted 17 March 2017 Posted 17 March 2017 I can see him at Middlesbrough, to be fair.
davieG Posted 22 June 2017 Posted 22 June 2017 Sunderland owner Ellis Short wants to enter negotiations with former Derby County and Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson regarding the currently vacant managerial position at the Stadium of Light, according to The Sun. The 53-year-old has been out of work since being axed by the Rams in October last year after just five months in charge, coincidentally the Wearsiders opponents in their Championship opener at the beginning of August. Even though Short is keen to sell the north east side this summer, the 56-year-old wants to instate someone who is immediately available and prepared to retain the current back-room staff, in particular current caretaker boss Robbie Stockdale. Pearson ticks both boxes with his former colleagues still in place at Leicester City, and the Englishman has proven his ability to work to a tight budget, another essential requirement demanded by the Stadium of Light chief. However, with the Wearsiders currently residing within a desperate state of uncertainty, the red and white army have shown disapproval to the current ongoings and it remains to be seen whether the ex-Derby man would be accepted as a step forward.
