FraserSorensen Posted 24 March 2017 Posted 24 March 2017 Which of course raises the question - best goal scored by a defender for Leicester? Asides from Morgan's groin obviously.

lgfualol Posted 24 March 2017 Posted 24 March 2017 That set piece was lovely. Konch vs Wolves was a goodn

teblin Posted 24 March 2017 Posted 24 March 2017 Taggart at spurs was good. But Fuchs goals earlier in the season was awesome.
goose2010 Posted 24 March 2017 Posted 24 March 2017 Kyle Naughton scored a couple of screamers if i remember correctly!

Asides from Morgan's groin obviously. We've had some full backs with absloute wands score some great goals, obv Fuchs. I think Thatcher about broke the net with a free kick once, which is probably pick of the bunch. Bruma goal is something else though.

foxile5 Posted 24 March 2017 Posted 24 March 2017 A lot of young people here. The greatest Leicester City goal from a defender belongs to Steve Walsh. It would be the play-off final goal, deep into the game against Derby. That was the first time we had ever been ahead at Wembley and provided the platform for the ups and downs of the last 20 years.

You've missed the point. 'Best' goal, not greatest.

AKCJ Posted 24 March 2017 Posted 24 March 2017 It won't win. I would imagine the utterly abysmal West Ham defending makes for poor viewing in the neutral's eye.

Best goal could cover all manner of basis - Huth's goal in question is great because it is well worked, whereas Walsh vs Derby/Morgan vs Sevilla due to importance of the goal. Goals of the month/season vary, but often are either well worked or stunning. I remember one of my favourite all time premier league goals being Jack Wilshere against Norwich - not important but beautiful and a team goal. Whereas if you look back to that infamous December 2006 GOTM for the Premier League and pretty much every goal was a screamer!

If we're talking beautiful, well-worked defenders goals then that's a different kettle of fish. I was always a big fan of Matt Elliot headers, they were never rated highly enough. It's one thing to be the big lad and win a header. It's quite another to get the accuracy and power on it he used to.

onekeithweller Posted 24 March 2017 Posted 24 March 2017 Huth v Spurs or Man City. Can't decide which.

Did'nt Elliott score something like 10 or 11 goals one particular season during the O'Neill era?!

He did score a few as an emergency striker...a double against Everton (I think) one of which where he turned on a six-pence. Useful player.
