Can we now have the usual 10 page debate about whose fault it was, from people who weren't there, like we have for every Euros and World Cup ?

We left the square a couple of hours ago but could see it had the potential to kick off.

Group congregated to drink and sing and someone threw a smoke bomb. After that about seven police vans drove into the square and what looked like the head honcho came along to observe and plan strategy.

As far as I could see at the time it was the kind of thing that would have been fine to be left alone but the police obviously wanted to break things up and disperse people. Could see it coming after Seville.

Spanish riot police surrounding us since Bout 3pm. Started closing in slightly. Bout 8pm here closed in and then backed off later on. Fans started singing Cherio, one fan threw can of beer at police then started hitting every Leicester fan in sight with a batton and had  to run 100m to get out of it

As always the few ruin it for the many.

Wish the police over here would take a leaf out of continental policing.

Not sure English football fans realise how aggressive and disrespectful their behaviour comes across overseas. "Banter" doesn't travel well.

Have to agree (sadly) with that. Sure that Leicester fans away from the big groups can (as always) blend in and enjoy the occasion fine. But the herd tendency takes over with fans when they meet up in a crowded centre. Would have been better if fans had boycotted the Plaza Mayor - plenty of other places to chill out and enjoy the atmosphere.
