So you spend more than enough to do the job, but it doesn't get done. I see your point. I think that's pretty much the labour policy, to increase public spending at the level of service provision but to cut back on public sector bureaucracy.
Sharpe's Fox Posted 9 May 2017 Posted 9 May 2017 http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/election-2017-39852119 Bloody pinko Tories. How can a governing party be so anti-business ect.

I take it all back, that £100 will more than make up for living in a Banana Republic backwater, somewhere off the coast of Europe.

ramboacdc Posted 9 May 2017 Posted 9 May 2017 Labour still not named their candidate for north west leicestershire. Trying to find someone who can oust bridgen. saying that lib dems came 2nd in the council elections.....
Webbo Posted 9 May 2017 Posted 9 May 2017 I didn't like the energy price freeze when Ed Miliband proposed it and I don't like it now. Populist bollox.

It is economically illiterate, it was rightly panned at the time and should be now. This just confirms to me that the 'Conservative' party is another centre left party on economics.
Guest MattP Posted 9 May 2017 Posted 9 May 2017 Someone needs to work out whether May is stealing all Ed Miliband's policy or the most right wing leader ever turning us into a dictatorship. No idea why but I thought Corbyn might resign after Thursday, he isn't the sort to do that though is he? I honestly think they'll be celebrating seeing moderates like Woodcock lose next month as it tightens the grip on the party which its now beyond doubt is the objective of those who have railroaded it.

Yeah, tbf those who think the Tories are really (rather than merely a fair bit) right wing ought to come over here for a while and get a look at how the pros do it.
LiberalFox Posted 9 May 2017 Posted 9 May 2017 I find it amusing that Hammond stole Ed Balls' economic policy and now May is stealing Ed Miliband's energy policy too. Meanwhile our negotiating tactic with Europe is to be "bloody difficult", but it's okay really because it's a strong and stable government putting hard working families first in the national interest.

It isn't an energy price freeze I don't think, it is saying to the energy companies "if you can sell at £600 a quid a year on your new customer tariffs you cant charge people who are not in a position to negotiate (the elderly, stupid etc) £300 more than that just because they are not paying attention. On the basis that the market is not really working. Still not sure how practical it is.

Clearly any team called Hammond and May would be expected to be quirky and original, not derivative and painful.
