The_77 Posted 8 July 2017 Posted 8 July 2017 I guess it genuinely is a sign of the times. This win-at-all-costs mentality. Personally, I'd feel more comfortable about watching players playing for Leicester who actually want to play for Leicester. Even if it meant we lost a few games. I must be old-fashioned in this respect. I love watching an on-form Mahrez. But if he keeps on bleating about wanting away, he can feck off and we'll start against Arsenal with players who want to wear blue. It seems like Mahrez wants to wear red.His teammates like him, know how great he can be, and welcomed him back this week--that's enough for me...but maybe we should give more weight to the opinion of a guy on a message board who would rather have had Lee Cattermole than Esteban Cambiasso?
Gooner556 Posted 8 July 2017 Posted 8 July 2017 More news coming out from an article on the dailymail, claiming we're going in for lemar for a 3rd bid, £45m-50m + Addons. Personally, i think riyad should stay and give leicester his all, never know if he performs, his dream club barca might come calling, but as a gooner I feel at the moment, arsenal will only turn to mahrez if we're basically told to **** off by monaco, considering we've bidded 3 times for lemar, i'd say they're open to negotiations. Never know, we might come in with a 40m+ bid for riyad early august / mid august time if lemar is a no-go.

I share the news about Lemar from France, here we say that Monaco will not let go this player has less than 90 million, this is a way of saying to Arsenal, it is intransferable but if you are ready to make a huge offer, why not ? Lemar is with me the most talented player in France and it will be difficult to negotiate with them. Mahrez seems to be in a deadlock because he has no official offer, he has to get back to work and found the motivation to restart in Leicester for the moment. Sorry for my English.

I 100% agree, it'll be a difficult deal to negotiate with monaco, i Could possibly see us offering £55-60m with maybe some in add-ons over his contract fulfilment, either way still a long way to go. We could just give up on lemar and pay leicester their evaluation of mahrez, i'd rather try and go all out for lemar first, he's a potential superstar in the future.

Monaco is the French porto their goal is not necessarily to have results every year but to sell their player at record prices, Lemar and Mahrez do not have the same position but I understand that Lemar is the priority at home, Younger, greater margin of progression, you can also make money on a future transfer ...

gurru991 Posted 9 July 2017 Posted 9 July 2017 Not too sure that there is much of a market for Mahrez ...His ego may take a bit of a beating in the transfer process.
Guest kristianity77 Posted 9 July 2017 Posted 9 July 2017 If there's any justice in the world then Arsenal will sign Lemar and Mahrez will have to pull his socks up for us.

Almo-Fox Posted 9 July 2017 Posted 9 July 2017 John Cross : Thomas Lemar is Arsenal's first choice next signing. Mahrez is flattering himself if he thinks he's anything other than back up option. 12:11 AM - 8 Jul 2017 from Enfield, London mercury LCFC : Arsenal transfer target Mahrez in talks on Leicester City future Craig Shakespeare is set to sit down with want-away winger Riyad Mahrez to discuss his Leicester City future. Mahrez returned to City today for pre-season training despite announcing at the end of... Leicester Mercury @Leicester_Merc Is cross s message directed to arsen wenger Ryad Mahez or LCFC owners ? Mercury message start by arsenal transfer target Mahrez meaning Leicester has been approached by arsenal for mahrez , but the price tag is 50 m , and the press informing on a gap of 15 m between the two clubs evaluation for mahrez , which resulted in no bid And that end in a formal answer from Shakespeare no bid for mahrez and ( as a responsible manager and afraid for his future ) CS has to be sure of the full commitment from his player mahrez and assuring to be professional and asking mahrez to be professional so he want his head and body to be 100 % reliable if not can be dropped from the first team or the team CS is demanding to meet with mahrez to sort it out by knowing his player if still thinking to move can force and lodging a transfer request and this one of the meaning of John cross message and the picture of mahrez attending tennis tournament at wembledon with a face that tells it all PS : the mahrez story thought us that loyalty is nothing in the business of football Kante after only half a season understood that staying a Leicester will let him at the back way back and miss an opportunity in his football career , but mahrez lured by promises of a lovely coach who thought will apply his dream in building a real team in 4-5 years and retiring at leicester club and city he loved , but mahrez ended with his ears geared up by the owner and forced to dig his ambitions and ideas Because fotball team is a combination of ambitious payers , average players and basic players , the ambitious ones are the players that make history, and the average ones are the players that make a living, and the basic are the players that get interchanged and sacked ( the dead woods ) Mahrez story has entered a new level , he is a target , hope it ends well

Kitchandro Posted 9 July 2017 Posted 9 July 2017 I never realised how much fun it was reading the Facebook comments from the Algerians having a fit that we we want £50m for him Desperate for him to stay now just to wind them up.
WigstonWanderer Posted 9 July 2017 Posted 9 July 2017 If Arsenal don't rate him as at least a 40m player, he is unlikely to get a starting spot in the team, unless of course he can suddenly turn on the 15/16 form. That might not be so easy. I think he'll end up spending a good deal of time on the bench.

I don't recall Vardy winning many penalties. It's mostly Mahrez and Albrighton if memory serves me right. EDIT: Nevermind I remember him winning atleast 2 now
ZeGuy Posted 9 July 2017 Posted 9 July 2017 He ain't going anywhere and pretty much made a fool of himself. Arsenal won't go for him for 50M and I can't see any other top club paying that amount of money for him. One season ain't enough. Hopefully he'll pull himself together next season.

Arsenal are bigger than us, Mahrez is unsettled and wants to leave, if they can keep chipping away then I'm sure they'll think we'll give in eventually. We don't have a great history of getting value for our players as it is. Wenger, for all his faults, isn't an idiot and there's no way he'll want to pay that much for a player who has only done it for one season. If I was an Arsenal fan (or a fan of any club going for Mahrez) then I'd be disappointed at chucking £50million on him. Although I don't like these crazy fees - look at Pogba, Bale and even back to the likes of Ferdinand - at least these players have proved themselves season after season. 50 million quid is a drop in the ocean for Arsenal. He is worth 50 million to us cos he's our best player regardless of last season. Lukaku has just been sold for 75 million +.
RODNEY FERNIO Posted 9 July 2017 Posted 9 July 2017 Who is Riyad's agent ? Whoever he is he is a pretty lousy example of an agent, Just seems a complete cock up by both the the player and the agent. If we continue to play hardball ( which I hope we do ) he is really boxed in the corner. If he stays and then throws his toys out of the pram ... which would not surprise me .. where does he go then ? Think the so called big boys are a bit wary of his character anyway this would just compound things.

He's never a 90M player. It was already bad in the PL, but now Mourinho and MU are setting new heights of insanity.
