Arsenal won't go for him for 50M and I can't see any other top club paying that amount of money for him. One season ain't enough. Hopefully he'll pull himself together next season. They'll be an agreement with The Arse.. He'll go there for closer to 40m in the end.. Which is good business for us!

It was already bad in the PL, but now Mourinho and MU are setting new heights of insanity. Absolutely. Man U are just inflating the transfer market. What does 30 million buy you these days? Isn't that what Watford wanted for Deeney? 50 million for Mahrez really isn't that unreasonable an asking price.

He is worth 50 million to us cos he's our best player regardless of last season. Lukaku has just been sold for 75 million +. Yeah but Lukaku has been doing it consistently season after season. No way is Lukaku even worth £50mill but at least he just didn't have one good season. That's my point.

Last summer he could easily have gone for 50M at least, not this one, no matter whether it's related to him being triple marked or struggling to find some form. He's not glamorous anymore. Anything close to 40M is really good business but he'll be wasted at Arsenal. They don't need him. More a midfielder with some balls who'd keep the team together and prevent their morale to nose dive as soon as they find themselves in a difficult situation.
dedlock Posted 9 July 2017 Posted 9 July 2017 Speculation today that @rse want £ 80m for Alexis Sanchez. On that basis they should have no problem with £ 50m for Riyad. It seems he may be considered as an alternative if they don't get their preferred target.

That's nonsense - Sanchez should just sit out the year and go for nothing next summer. most he should fetch is 50m and even that's pretty ridiculous given his contract position.
HankMarvin Posted 9 July 2017 Posted 9 July 2017 His made it clear he wants to leave, if we thought his performances last year were lacklustre you can bet he will be under the microscope this year from fans and press as wantaway Mahrez etc i wonder how he will deal with that level of scrutiny.

EDIT: Nevermind I remember him winning atleast 2 now In 15/16 season Vardy won 7 pens. More than every other prem team except Man City who won 8.

Wymsey Posted 9 July 2017 Posted 9 July 2017 With Arsenal seemingly the only club really interested in him publically, amd them pursuing other players in his position, can only see him staying put - whether he wants to or not.
pazzerfox Posted 9 July 2017 Posted 9 July 2017 I'm very surprised that Everton aren't interested in Mahrez.

They're bigger than us, better than us I admit and they're signing players to create what seems a decent team, a competitive team, however I wouldn't consider it a massive step up from us. He wants to compete in Europe, Champions League every season, I wouldn't be confident Everton can do that, not just yet anyway.

Everton seems only a small upgrade. This year will be big for them.

Clearly, he doesn't see them as top four candidates.
