According to this we could add a free agent, but James isn't a free agent, it also states that we had to name 25 eligible contracted players so we didn't name James when we should have done. Their really is no excuse for not doing so if we can't add him later. Poor from the club. I can only assume that someone who has gone on a season long loan (or half season) cannot be named in your squad untill the next window. Otherwise, as you and others have pointed out, it was known we would have two games after the championship was finished and who knew whether we would have a midfield injury crisis and need MJ for Bournemouth in order to stay up. Cant believe the club Is that badly run so had to be the former.

Although, and this is conjecture, it could be part of the loan agreement. It prevents the parent club from pressuring the other club to end the loan "by mutual agreement", which, for example, would have been awful for Barnsley.
foxy boxing Posted 8 May 2017 Posted 8 May 2017 Doubt we will see him until next season and even then it will be extremely tough for him to make the first team. he may go out on loan again next season, see how he does and then assess whether he has a future here or not. he will really need to fight for a place in the first team and I hope he manages it

Statistical analysis has proved that without him they'd have finished 20th in league 1, had he joined a month earlier Barnsley would have just qualified for the Europa league.
