Matty James - available now ?

Now Barnsley have finished their season, is Matty James available for us for our last 3 matches ?  If he is, I can see him being in the match squad, but probably not starting (though he couldn't do worse than Drinky in the last couple of months !).  I think he's played 90 minutes in EVERY Barnsley game since he joined them.

OK.  It's good to know.  I wasn't sure if he was named in our original squad at the start of the season - and so qualified.

I know.  I meant, as he was in our squad in August, that qualified him to play for us again when his loan was up.  I guess what you're saying is, as he wasn't in our 'revised' squad in January, he can't play again ?

Sarcasm aside, it's actually true, if we want to qualify for the Europa League, he is eligible to play.

This isn't a p*** take, but I wonder if we'll "see" him as part of Birch's run before the Bournemouth match? I don't see why not and it will give us a chance to show our support to him (so long as he doesn't sufer an injury set back, slipping over as he turns to wave at the Kop). He could do it in Filberts costume (sorry to break it to you, it IS just a man in a costume) which would sweat off any remaining excess pounds and then take off the head as he completes his last lap (to the horror of the youngsters and a few older ones in the crowd).

wasnt it a lack of foresite, from club management to take him out of the squad, therefore, no correction

later.

Hes available but cant even be given the subs bench...

playing silly b#ggers, but if games were pushed out, because of tv priorities, or, if we had taken that next step,

in the CL...or we needed experience and that bit extra, for the last 3 games to confirm safety...

I found this out to my huge disappointment earlier this season. I was following him around a function asking if he could remember meeting me in the ground, photo outside the ground, at another function, in the club restaurant, down the street, in the club shop.....

 

In the end he told me to 'fvck off, I've never seen you before'. 

 

I was was hearbroken and just stood there tearfully mouthing the words 'but filbert, why'. 

 

And he he stunk of cheap whisky.

"9) Clubs do not have to name a full squad of 25 if they do not have that many contracted players and in this case they can add free agents outside the transfer window. However if they have 25 eligible contracted players, they must be named."

 

According to this we could add a free agent, but James isn't a free agent, it also states that we had to name 25 eligible contracted players so we didn't name James when we should have done. Their really is no excuse for not doing so if we can't add him later. Poor from the club.

Presumably by going out on loan he became ineligible? Perhaps now he is treated as a free agent though. No idea.
