Fuuuuuck that

Give me Hereford away any day of the week.

I assume you've not been to both Hereford and Hong Kong.

Yeah, Hereford is easier to get to.

We obviously learnt our lesson last season.

Dragging the players around the world is the best option.

To try and over fill the bank anyway.

fvcking joke.

I'm pretty sure we went to Hong Kong with Pearson.

If you look at the table it's curious how the teams at the bottom are the ones then went to America/Far East for pre-season, yet your Chelsea's and Man Utd's are the ones that stayed at home and played Dagenham & Redbridge and Stockport.

No please. I understand the club needs these trips to enhance its global profile but it is too early for this squad. Concentrate on building a global brand on the pitch first. When we have that, sure go ahead.

I know. My point is that other clubs make it work. Yes they're just better than us anyway but there's no reason we can't make it work if it's done properly, which last season wasn't. The dates for this tournament from what I remember seeing look earlier and less travelling between games obviously. It's just irritating looking at people moan because we're a more fancied club now and are invited to these sort of things, they're just stuck with this small club mentality that we can't leave the East Midlands in pre-season

I'm just happy I didn't book my flights for my business trip out there !!  Now I have to take a flier that it will be HK on the 22nd cos I can't get there for the 19th.  Anyone thinking of going - do it. Fantastic place. Not cheap though!

There's a pretty big difference between heading to the Far East for two games three weeks before the season starts, and doing Glasgow>Los Angeles>Stockholm>Wembley over a three week period, with the Los Angeles stop essentially being a trophy tour as well as a game.

If this trip is true we'll be back in the UK by 24 July, two friendlies to play on 28 & 01 August, the marquee home friendly on 05 August then to the season opener on 12 August.

Not too bothered by this, two games isn't much I guess and might be on TV. Owners will be keen to keep us relevant in Asia so this isn't surprising.

Also we won't be playing teams as good as Barca and PSG, so we will not have to worry about getting spanked and playing our strongest 11 each game. God last Summer was a mess.

Didnt we kind of start that all off be winning the prem already?

Look, the lads always go abroad for a few days pre season anyway. Sometimes it can be Norway against some ( no offense) lowly amateur sides so why not Hong Kong?

Now, i would champion the corner of anyone wanting both games played in the same place to cut down on travelling... But i am hoping people will  now see that our crap first half of the season was more to do with how Ranieri wanted them playing than with our pre season trip...

Fvck that bollocks again. We looked so unfit against Hull first game this season.

Noticed how the Mercury have put an article up pretty much the same as my post and used the same link I found.

Further evidence that on quiet news days they just sit on Foxestalk all day.

Think the continued travelling around the globe didn't help last year, this year it'd be a week or so away where training will carry on and then back for the low fixtures again

This time no globe trotting so hopefully should be intact for the start of the campaign

Very disappointing . Thought the thread title was King Kong pre season

I understand your confusion, especially considering a lot of people on this thread are going ape over the tour!

I'll get my coat...

Historically stuff like this has ended up on Sky Sports as filler, though Liverpool are known for retaining their own rights, so any friendly out there with them might be exclusive to LFCTV!

At least we're not travelling to three countries with three different time zones and playing teams where we are gonna just get spanked. The only saving grace for me.

Yes, for high altitude training& fitness, the most important part of pre season. The owners have seen the dollar signs I'm afraid.
