The arrival of Kelechi spells the end for which forward/s.

I think Ulloa and Musa - that would raise around £20m

Can't see us getting £19,999,999 for Ulloa!

Leicester City are on the verge of signing striker Kelechi Iheanacho from Manchester City in a deal worth £25million, ESPN FC reports.

The 20-year-old Nigerian has been linked with several Premier League sides, most commonly West Ham, but the Hammers have moved on to other targets and it is reported that Leicester are now in advanced negotiations to sign Kelechi.

Leicester boss Craig Shakespeare has been in search of a new attacker and sees the clinical Iheanacho as an ideal strike partner for Jamie Vardy next season.

Despite breaking into the first team under Manuel Pellegrini, Iheanacho has struggled for game time since the arrival of Pep Guardiola, and the signing of Gabriel Jesus pushed him further down the pecking order.

Recent reports have stated that one of City’s conditions for selling Iheanacho will be a buy-back clause to avoid a similar situation as Romelu Lukaku, who left Chelsea for £28million and is now are the centre of a £75million-plus duel between his former club and Manchester United.

Telegraph Sport understands that Leicester have met the price required to sign the Nigeria international and a deal appears increasingly likely to happen this month.

It is understood that the capture of Iheanacho could become a Leicester club record if instalments are not reached on the deal which brought Islam Slimani from Sporting Lisbon last year.

Leicester City are poised to capture Kelechi Iheanacho from Manchester City in a £25million deal as reported earlier, news that is now being backed up by the BBC and the ever-reliable John Percy of Telegraph.

But it could have been a much different story, with well-informed West Ham supporter Hugh Southon revealing that West Ham had a deal almost closed for the 20-year-old… only for manager Slaven Bilic to veto it at the eleventh hour.

David Sullivan had struck an agreement with both Kelechi and Manchester City, and the transfer was all set to go ahead when Bilic decided to personally pull the plug on it, favouring other targets on the market.

Bilic’s reasoning was that Iheanacho was unproven and too inexperienced – despite statistically having the best minutes per goal ratio in Premier League history, with a goal every 106.5 minutes.
