It would be bad business, I agree with you.

But if there's one thing I'm sure of is that 40m GBP is not what you'll be getting from Roma. We simply don't have that kind of money.

So either Barcellona / Arsenal / Chelsea step in or no one will meet your demands.

If no club offers what we consider is a fair price for Mahrez, then quite simply he stays, and i think most of our fans will be happy with that.

Hopefully this summer will have shown Mahrez that he needs to put in the kind of performances that he is capable of, rather than the half arsed performances of last season, if he is going to get some of his dream clubs trying to sign him, at a fair price to us.

If he has learnt that lesson, then we will benefit ourselves next season from having him here.

If hasn`t learnt that lesson, then he might find himself on the bench in what is a world cup year.

The bottom line is, he signed a 4 year contract with us last season, with no buy out clause, we will have a price that we deem good enough for us to accept, but we don`t need to sell for less than that price, and i would be extremely disappointed if we did so.

Well we said 50 mill from the onset.

We are open to selling him to you but from a negotiation stand point its 50 million. You cant come to the table with a 30 mill bid and expect anyone to say "suren rob us blind" . Heck why dont we just give him to arsenal for free.

If you came in at 40 to 42 million £ im sure the club would settle for something in the middle. That means you are willing to   negotiate like a real serious level. Dont expect them to drop 20 million. If you cant understand basic valuation move on to other targets that meet your budget.

We have no expectations and contrarily we're well aware, that given our means, such signing would be a miracle.

Having said that, we would have left already if Leicester was asking for more than 40m. The £50 pricetag you keep referring to is just for PL's clubs cuz clearly they have more money.

I'd love a Ferrari, but I wouldn't dream of offering the garage £10k instead of £100k. It's not difficult, the price is £50 million, not 30!

The fact that none of the big-boys have offered it should speak volumes to Mahrez...he was bang average last season, and as the saying goes, you're only as good as your last game.

Learn a lesson Riyad...get your head down and up your game, and show the likes of Barca what they are missing.

We don't need the money and deserve some respect. We won't gain that by selling cheap. Stick to your guns LCFC!!!!

We have only knocked at the door because Mahrez has said he wants to leave. We haven't disrespected Leicester in any way - not our fault we're not Barcellona nor Arsenal.

€35m is low given the rates in England but it's not a garage.

The value of a player is what another club is willing to offer. Man City splashing £50m on Walker doesn't make any offer for Mahrez any less fair, it just makes Man City look stupid.

I`m not saying you have disrespected us, you are doing what is best for your club, and trying to buy quality at a bargain price, i would expect nothing less, but the fact remains that the offers you are making are no where near what we will sell him for.

If Mahrez only had a year left on his contract, or we were a club that needed money, then i could see that you would have a chance of getting him on the cheap, but he still has 3 years on his contract, and we don`t need the money, so the offers you are making will just be turned down, unless you pay what we are willing to sell at.

Basically we hold all the cards on this deal.

If we were looking to sell him then you would be right, but we are happy to keep him, so in this case, the value of the player is what that player is worth to us.

Tottenham got £50m for Walker for the same reason, they were happy to keep him until an offer was made that was acceptable to them.

There is no disrespect. It's business. Offers are made to test the water. It's all fair and fine. But if we are going to stick to £50 million, as stated, then they are wasting their time trying to negotiate.

You are happy to keep him but he's not happy to stay.

We had a similar situation with Benatia 3 years ago; we were happy to keep him and he had 4 years left on his contract. Still, Bayern was offering too much money to the player and we ended up losing him for cheap.

The only difference between you and us is that Mahrez is not an ass and hasn't shown any sign of disengagement. You do actually have a shot at keeping him hence.

someone will panic and pay a huge fee for Mahrez at the end of this month, just pay £40 million now and get him. Otherwise he's going Chelsea or Arsenal when they struggle to land their preferred targets.

I was literally just about to post the same.

we need to keep him no matter what. The prospect of Vardy, Riyad and Nacho is just too exciting not to be seen.

It would be too much to miss out on those three playing together after missing out on kante and ndidi together

i would love to see Vardy nacho & Riyad together, these three would be taking defences apart next season.

In Italy there are saying that we either get it done by this week or we'll move on.

They's also saying we're after Lucas Vasquez from Real and - but that's just my theory - Berardi from Sassuolo.

I'm not buying the Cuadrado and Suso rumours.

Move on now, your club is jus showing that they want to be involved, if they seriously wanted him they would offer the full amount, move on

If you haven't told us to move on why should we.

Defrel is quite similar to Mahrez anyway, just plays maybe more central but I'm surprised you're in for Riyad.

In this inflated market place Riyad is still a bargain at £50 million. As others have said we hold all the aces. Poor Riyad has been terribly advised and they have read this situation completely wrong!

Unless we get the offer he only has one choice to get his move in January and that is roll his sleeves up and show the world he can consistently be the top player from 15/16 season. COYB.

Not quite. If Leicester were looking to sell for the best price available then that would be true. However if we believe he is worth more to us, then our price trumps the market price.

Edit: I see others have already made this point.

I don't find them similar.

Defrel can play wide too but that's not his role. He was bought to give Dzeko some rest and I believe to fill the homegrown quota. We basically ended up overpaying cuz he was of one the few serviceable on the market barring top prospect like Verratti, Bernardeschi, etc...

Also with Perotti, Elsharaawi, Under + (Mahrez?) as wingers we've been trying to be legit contenders for once in our life.
