Col would replace him with Cattermole in a jiffy

He'd replace his wife with Cattermole if he could.

I'd loan him out for game time and as a chance to prove himself. He's not terrible, but he looks very uncomfortable on the ball (when playing in midfield anyway) and his positioning is questionable. At 22 I'd expect him to look a more accomplished footballer even if he still has his faults. I do understand that being asked to play three different positions doesn't exactly help him though.

or maybe they just didn't do it in training, as somebody once said!,

Which could very well be the case, it's been difficult to blood players here with all the drama constantly at the club. But most did play and were slated by our fans

Point being just because they aren't good enough right here right now for whatever reason, doesn't mean they are shit.

Yes, but he can be neither. Get rid asp.

On what basis? He has filled in well at CM, RB and although you wouldn't play him there as a regular he does a good job. You don't really get many players like him who can do that. He's still young so given a few more chances I reckon he can develop into a decent player. We have a tendency to write off players before they've even begun, and would rather have him then take the risk on  signing an expensive replacement.

Also, if we sold him then I'd expect quite a large sell on going to Copenhagen

I would push this through if I was the manager. Got to move a couple on. I would rather get Mendy up to speed and see if he can offer something instead, as Amartey will not pressure the first choice central midfielders for a place. Ulloa and Musa to follow next out the door please.

That the tactics we have, which was honed under NP, doesn't suit all players.

Of those mentioned Keane and Wood managed a fair few games, yet seemed to be somewhat uncomfortable with the LCFC 'style' at times.

Kramaric, Kane and Lingard just never came to terms with it at all, yet all have developed into good players with their respective clubs, (none of which play 'the Leicester way'.

I genuinely think that Lingard and Kramaric would be good players for us now. Kramaric it seemed like a culture shock and we just got Lingard at the wrong time.

If we can't find better players than Amartey then we may as well dissolve the club right now.

In other words, bullshit.

Oi! Stop trying to take over!

Again, to try to be positive......

:nigel:

i would imagine that Amartey has still not been tried at his best position... CB

But I can only assume that Shakey just cannot fancy him there.

Or he'd play him.

If he's not fancied at CB then I don't really see the point of having him at the club. I've seen enough to suggest that he lacks nouse and the composure to play regularly in midfield for us and I don't fancy him as a right-back either. A loan playing CB at Stuttgart would probably suit him and therefore us to be honest. He'd get to focus on one position, playing in a league where the standard is much higher than in Denmark.

On the basis that every time I've seen him play he did nothing to suggest he will ever be a Premiership player. As soon as he was brought on against Arsenal I knew we would lose it. Not blaming him for that defeat but never the less there is no way would he get into a top side and that is supposedly what we aspire to be.

Well it's not rocket science. If the boss thought Amartey to be any good at CB, he'd play him. You play your best players.

Am I missing something or is there little point in having a 'utility player' if that player can't play particularly well in ANY position, at this level.

What is it good to have one for? To make up the numbers?

'Utility player' is just a polite way of saying 'not very good'.

I'm not sure about that mate. I can think of quite a few good players who can play in various positions and look strong in all of them. Milner is an example.

Amartey just ain't very good. Some of his fans on here will suggest he goes in goal next. Or perhaps nicks the refs whistle and has a go at that for 90 mins?

I meant in his case. Ji Sung Park was another example of a good utility player while we're at it.

Amartey has been generally disappointing since he got here but I'd be happy to support the club's decision either way on this one.

I think he could still become a good player though but he just needs to nail down a position which he's nowhere near doing at the minute.

He has struggled here to hold down a place and is seen more as a utility player which is a nice way to say he isn't really good enough in any position. we really need to go out and spend on three or four top notch defenders if we can to replace the ageing ones and the ones that aren't very good!
