It's being reported we're after him for £25 million. I like him, more of a Mahrez type player than Townsend in my opinion.

Anything in this or just a journo filling column inches? Would definitely take him here if true.

Decent player, knows the league, plenty of experience and can score goals! but we already have Mahrez, Gray and Albrighton unless one of them leaves

One of them will be leaving at some point, might as well get the replacement in now. Plus, I'd prefer 4 wingers anyway.

Saw it on news now, probably some whiffy website.

Get him in. He's the sort of player we should be going for.

Technical, creative, scores goals, strong. Always rated him.

Just out of curiosity, who do you think we should be aiming for?

Decent player with Premiership experience. Would definitely add quality to our team.

Be interesting to see what WBA think of him and whether they are unhappy with him potentially being sold.

This is the type of player plus Townsend that I could see lined up as a replacement for Mahrez.

IMO, we are unable to replace a player like Mahrez, so signing a winger plus a more creative wide/central player is what we may aim for.

I'm happy we are being linked with players that have Premiership experience. Perhaps a u-turn from last season's recruitment policy.

You can aim as high as you want but if players of that ilk don't find us an attractive option then we're wasting our time and energy and who's to say we haven't.

Exactly this. I'm sure behind the scenes we test the water with player's agents being called etc and often we get told a flat-out "No chance".

Yes we won the title but we have quickly returned to a mid-table Premier League club that has as much chance as being drawn into a relegation battle, as we do into a fight for European football.

I'm sure Shakey would love players like Smalling etc, but we have to accept that we are just not as attractive proposition to many of the top players.

Yeah technically we could probably afford any winger we want, realistically we will land wingers rated at 30mil or less

Most probably the truth, I'm still majorly disappointed we didn't capitalise after winning the league, we could have really made a statement.

It's hard to say, but we definitely have the money to aim higher. I can only assume we don't to break the bank in fear of disrupting the squad.

Can't get much more disrupted than losing 3 on Thursday anyway can it?

If that happens we definitely need some major signing, the fans will go crazy

I don't think breaking the bank is the issue especially if the rumours regarding the £40m+ bid for Siggurdson were true. I think the issue is persuading players to move to Leicester. We aren't short on cash but I think we need to be realistic with the signings we make.

I agree that last season we completed ****ed up our spending and failed two capitalise from winning the league however I think we have learnt from it with the signings made so far albeit to are currently injured.

I think if the right players are available we will stump up the cash. Last thing we want to do is blow millions on flops e.g. Musa, Mendy & Slimani (good player but overpriced).

We've all seen players go to teams for the money, is it just something's we aren't willing to do? Pay them way over the odds in wages
