Guest Col city fan Posted 1 September 2017 Posted 1 September 2017 Good news. I'm excited by this one. I just hope he can quickly come up to the pace of the Prem.

We requested extra time from the FA to complete the deal which they granted us, doesn't that mean that the international clearance from FIFA is merely to make sure everything is in order? Sporting have announced their end they've complied and he's gone.
reynard Posted 1 September 2017 Posted 1 September 2017 Why does he need international clearance? he's a citizen of the Eu of which we are still a member? Sorry genuine question. Did Dragovic need one too. His deal was pretty late in the day.
Legend_in_blue Posted 1 September 2017 Posted 1 September 2017 He'll be an upgrade on DD and won't require a bench.

All signings from abroad have to get international clearance, just like all domestic signings have to be approved by the FA. These things are usually a formality but with this there's a spot of uncertainty.
GaelicFox Posted 1 September 2017 Posted 1 September 2017 Best signing since Kante !!!! I hope he hasn't a release clause he is going to be worth £60m next summer !

Guest Posted 1 September 2017 Posted 1 September 2017 Think he'll be in the team before Iborra. Hope he's as good as we've been led to believe. Top 8 assured. Now the target is europe.
SkidsFox Posted 1 September 2017 Posted 1 September 2017 Who signs the "International Clearance"? The Pope? Slepp Blatter? Donald Trump?
Wycombe Fox Posted 1 September 2017 Posted 1 September 2017 I am truly excited by this signing This has to go down as a very good transfer window.

Sure But this was the case at 1am last night No reason for a 17hr delay in making that statement which is hardly a ringing announcement of a key signing

Farrington fox Posted 1 September 2017 Posted 1 September 2017 For god sake. Silva will be available for selection against Chelsea. Stop acting like petulant kids.

filbertway Posted 1 September 2017 Posted 1 September 2017 We must be one of the few clubs that manage to make such a big deal out of work permits and "international clearance" whatever that means.

Interesting, makes a mockery of the transfer window system when domestic bodies can set whatever date they want but then FIFA over rule?
