The forced attempt of rivalry with Tottenham is pathetic and I actually wouldn't mind seeing them win the title this season. I must admi that the main reason for that though is that Postecoglou seems like a top bloke.

Spurs live rent-free in the heads of some of our supporters. We won the league! Never understood why there isn’t more hatred towards Manchester City, they sing a strange song about Ranieri and they should not have been allowed back in the champions league(to our detriment).

In their defence it seems quite mutual.

I suppose it depends on who you know, I don’t have social media but the Spurs fans in my family and friends, couldn’t give a toss. I realise it may play out differently online. Then there are of course supporters who hate Spurs because of the 1999 league cup final.

Honestly can't get the depth of feeling that people put into football that some folks choose to "hate" any other club (that's a pretty strong word with strong connotations for me, look at what's happening around the world driven by that word right now), but then other people clearly think and feel differently and fair enough.

Online is always different to real life though. You're comparing apples and oranges.

I don't personally know any Leicester fans that give any more of a shit about Spurs than they give about us tbh.

I do, but I also hate Newcastle. Aston Villa or Brighton will not win the league. In reality Tottenham probably won't either.

I bet in the vast majority of cases people say it in the same way they’d say “I hate tomatoes”. There’s hate, and there’s not-really-hate-but-I-want-to-express-myself-easily-hate.

We definitely live in Spurs' heads for that season. I'm not particularly bothered about them personally, the only reason I wouldn't want to see them win the league purely because their fans have always had to have a sense of entitlement that only Newcastle and Leeds seem to be able to match.

It's football, I wouldn't take "hate" too seriously. I don't like a lot of clubs but it ends there, I wouldn't want to see them collapse and people lose their club or all the jobs that go with a football club.

What's happening in the World is different to just "hating" a football club.

The strong dislike I have towards some clubs is probably more a manifestation of the dislike I have towards modern football in general. Those things exist to a great extent with Leicester too but at least go alongside the other stuff we still love about the game - the fan community, history, nostalgia, family, being invested in the result.

Having said that I do genuinely hate the arrogance and entitlement of the big six, exemplified by ex United and Liverpool players turned pundits on TV every week scouting players their clubs should be buying, as if they have a divine right to any player they want.

I honestly don't know what I'd do if we were bought out by the Saudi state like Newcastle. I like to think I'd give it up but it would be very difficult.

Yeah, that's fair, and I know that some folks use the word differently to the way I do.

I get this too, but I can't bring myself to have a massively strong depth of feeling towards it compared to other things. Again, I know everyone's different in that regard though.

Football is very important in my life and I hate what's happened to it in this country. But there's not much I can do about it so meh

That’s what I’m saying at least, when I say “I hate Spurs” there isn’t a massively strong depth of feeling.

I mean, I go through it during matches but that’s different - just an irrational attachment to my club, that I see as a largely positive thing anyway.

Nearly fetched my lunch up seeing that.

What's the issue? If two football fans have the opportunity to get privately engaged on the pitch of a club they support, why not? I imagine many Leicester fan couples would be delighted if given the opportunity to do the same. It's not as bad as fully grown adults with dramatic public proposals at Disneyland or wherever. Let them be.

Yeah well private when LCFC staff had to work overtime for it.

There aren't that many staff needed to sort the pyrotechnics and lighting/music, and I'm sure they got paid for the overtime. Just as they would do if someone hired out the hospitality areas for a private event.

From your previous posts, you do seem to try and make little digs against KP/Top/Thailand whenever possible.
