Need one to replace Simpson.

We play this new way, where the full back on one side moves up the wing when we are in possession, the wide midfielder tucks in and the centre mid moves to cover the full back role.

It looks good and has worked to a degree, but you need a player that can attack as well as defend and Simpson can’t.

I would expect a new right back to come in, in January as a priority.

We are okay on the left with both Chilwell and Fuchs who can both attack, but on the right we need to sort.

Shame Fuchs can't defend.

I've said this a few times. The left is the weaker side. Fuchs really should have left in a blaze of glory after winning the title. And Chilwell is another City youngster who has been bigged up by the usual suspects to being better (currently) than he actually is.

My priority would be a very good attacking left full back.

ive said it before and will say it again. We cannot afford to have attacking full backs as our centre halves / midfield are either not quick enough to recover on the counter. An attacking fullback will be wasted as Mahrez only uses Simpson as a decoy.

We would be better off going 3 at the back with wing backs Simpson Big H and Morgan as a 3 would be fine.

Plus we cant just replace Simpson as we dont have anyone else to blame for everytime we lose. "we lost because we dont have an attacking right back"

We've needed a Right back for some time now either to replace Simpson or be his understudy!. Amartey can play there but he is too much of a utility player where we need a specialist in that position!

it's because he doesn't have enough technical ability! he isn't a good crosser of the ball nor is he a good dribbler. when gray and albrighton run behind the fullback (you can add n'didi in there) he had no problem passing to them

I still have faith in Chilwell. Fuchs on the other hand is finished, sadly.

chilwell need to be a bit stringer imo... but he is getting better and better.  I hope we hang on to him.

Chilwell will only get bettered by playing games. We have a season here where we are in no danger of being dragged into the drop zone and a little way behind the top 7, to me this is the perfect season to play him week in week out and roll with it. Allow him to make the mistakes and learn from them, we will have a much better lb next season for it.

Agreed on Simpson, as good as he is at defending he is a liability on the ball and if we want to play possession football he needs to be the first player replaced.

Didnt see the game last night, How was Amartey? He looked good v Leeds.
