Why didnt Pearson rate him until he (or Cambiasso) was desperate enough to put him in the team?

Didnt think he was great until that cross tbh, just remember a lot of his crosses hitting the ankles of the first man. But you know eventually he will deliver a top class cross and christmas was saved

I was told some of it was fitness, some of it personal leave.

Hes brilliant. He gets a lot of stick for some of his passing at times but that’s the penalty of him looking for a forward pass 90% of the time.

Maguire intercepts, passes to Marc. Marc dinks a lovely ball into Vardy, who neatly lays it back to Wilf.

Wilf launches the greatest bomb ever and you know the rest....

There’s a camera angle from behind the Kop and Wilf’s reaction when it comes off is brilliant

How many other players can go from left wing, to centre mid to right back and look credible in all of them? James Milner, that's who!

But lots of love for Albrighton as well.

1) We’d won 2 games in 24 matches and were rock bottom. Albrighton came into the team which gave us the balance that allowed us to switch to a 3-5-2. We then went on to win 7 out of 9 games in which he assisted 3 goals & scored 2. He WAS one of our best players in those last 9 games along with Cambiasso/Vards & he had a major influence on the team.

2) A player that “runs around a lot” and gives you work rate off the ball is just as important to how a team operates & performs than a player that does the business on the ball.

3) My post was to give the guy some credit (which he rarely gets) & praise for everything he’s done for us since we signed him on a free.

For you to not see what a great servant he’s been and just reply with a pointless negative post is quite embarrassing

Albrighton actually gets a lot of credit and is one of the few who flies under the radar when he has a poor game. If you're not convinced look at the threads or the match ratings and no one with half a brain would ever question his committment, work rate or his importance. Of course he's been and still is a great servant. I never meant anything else in my post if you took the time to read it. It doesn't make him immune to criticsm and prevent one to see his short comings though,

My post is negative and embarrassing just because I meant that people should find a balance between ode and indictment? That's FT for you.

one of my favourite players of all time. an absolute hero.

I'm glad he gets recognition like this. Vastly undervalued and he cost zero. "Not good enough for Aston Villa" ???

I love him to bits because he epitomizes the commitment needed when you take to the pitch, even if he doesn't play his best you can never question his effort. I'm sure he'd play in Goal for us if asked,

That's how much he loves us.

But what a quality cross he put in for the Goal. He completely took the defense out of it with the Dept on the cross. He can't be far from an England call up.

Was talking to my son about Albrighton earlier today.

Two things: 1. We both agreed he’s been better for the club than either of us imagined he would be.

2. The late ball into the box yesterday was nothing short of awesome.

What a signing Marc has been for LCFC

I agree. I'll tell you what I like about him - he never ever hides.

Even when he got smashed in the face at Man C last season - and he had every right to go mental. How that wasn't punished I'll never know.

Indeed! And with the size of his hooter (nose...) it must have smarted a tad!

Tbf the guy must be in dreamland with us too, he gets his marching orders at Villa and his career looks to be heading towards the championship graveyard. The next thing he knows he is a champion of England and playing amongst Europe’s elite. It’s a match made in heaven, he was born to play for us.

He wasn't fit like, when he came to Leicester he was so incredibly frail. Always injured, no stamina. They spent months conditioning him and now look at him, for all his faults he never stops running for ninety minutes, and still has the energy to put a ball like that in in the final minute, whilst never getting injured.

I can see how that might be - itk?

Not at all ITK, it's just obvious.

He went from archetypal sicknote to midfield dynamo in about 7 months.

In other words you don’t know?

And are people still banging on about Cambiasso running the team? What evidence of this is there?

Next thing I hate after the player slating threads are the dithyrambic ones. His cross for Maguire's goal was great, without any question. He still did have a poor game tonight and I disagree about him being one of the best performers in the last ten games. Like hell.

Just because he runs a lot doesn't mean he always has a good game. Does is it mean he's crap or doesn't deserve (until now) a place in the starting XI? Hell no. I wish people could find a middle way in their judgement.

It's obvious. I know it as much as we know any of the shite we talk on here. Its a football forum.

It's the new reality - the obvious (to some) has to be the truth.
