Inspired by recent discussion in the Trump and politics thread I'm interested to see attitudes towards this.

Yes, but only just.

There would still be things at the back of my mind knowing during certain situations etc that could make me think twice.

Imagine if this was asked on a Thailand-based football message board..

Date or sleep? Pretty sure you’ve been close before

I suspect that for many people, it depends on whether the transsexual is "passable"/good-looking enough, if they are pre- or post-op etc.

Answers will also vary depending on whether it's going on a date, a one-night-stand, or a long-term relationship.

I would also expect that if a person was not aware of the transsexual's history beforehand but had regular interactions with them (say if she was passable and they knew each other as work colleagues etc), that he would be more open to dating her, even after finding out. It's frequently the unknown that's scary - but really (most) transsexual people are pretty normal.

Transexual means pre-op right? Also pre- any sort of hormonal treatment I guess. And I’m sure people fall along a spectrum in respect of their strength of feeling toward their transexual identity. So conceivably a woman who is a bit blokey, goes to the football, drinks beer, likes having threesomes with another woman could be classed to some extent as transexual. In which case yes I would. If you’re talking fully committed to looking like a male or a male looking like a female and so on, then no I wouldn’t.

The right obsessed with trannies again ffs

I'm interested as these days most folk seem to accept what people would define themselves as.

I think this question would answer whether they genuinely believe it.

Of course it doesn’t. You don’t have to be gay to be accepting of homosexuality in society.

Me thinks you doth protest too much on this subject, Matty Boy.

Transsexual is usually post-hormones and post-op from my understanding. Transgender is the umbrella term that covers pre-op individuals.

I assumed the question was asking about dating male-to-female transsexuals rather than female-to-male transsexuals, I guess that would make the answers differ too.

Interestingly we had a post-trans girl in the shop the other day and the only way you could tell was because she still had a well manly voice, caught me a bit off guard  Tbh I think I still would have she was pretty tidy, I mean imagine the benefits of a girlfriend with past experience of having a cock plus you wouldn't need to worry about kids!  Doubt I'd say the same if they looked like a dude though, that would be weird so provisionally yes... but I accidentally voted no because I am dumb. lol
