The fact he has made the most tackles doesnt NECESSARILY mean he is the "top tackler" it just means he has attempted more tackles.

Unless thats whats meant by top tackler rather than best tackler

Or, he plays in a team that can't keep hold of the ball and he is always having to tackle to get the ball back. Probably why Kante's tackle stats have dropped.

I just can't see us selling Wilf. We're building for the top 6 not helping our opposition to dismantle our team.

Owners need to come out early and say our best players are not for sale. We have more Money than Liverpool and improving well under Puel.

He'll develop better here under Puel tutelage, and become a top player without the added pressures of a club like Liverpool.

Klopp reminds me of the people who used to flog Horses until they drop and then dump them when they had no more to give. His methods end careers early. Wilf would be foolish to go there.

We do ?

next you’ll be telling me that we’re bigger than them !!!

anyone who went to Hong Kong will not be surprised if some of our players were interested in becoming part of that club.

Yes we do Firstly they have huge Debts we don't.

Secondly our Owners are wealthier than the Americans who are only looking to sell and get out. They said as much last year.

It's time people stopped referring to us as a small club. Those days are thankfully behind us for the foreseeable future.

We aren’t a small club but to suggest we are competing with Liverpool is just nuts.

And what evidence do we have that our owners are prepared to spend their own money on expanding the club and the infrastructure ?  Their conversion of debt for equity still means they can pay dividends to repay their investment. We have made good profits over the past couple seasons and vichai has always said that these will be re invested into the club. We can also see that there is a pre agreed bank loan facility in place.

Because the club has done so well in generating cash since our arrival back in the prem, it’s not been possible to see what the owners would be prepared to put in to drive forward their continued ambitions.

Looking at the Liverpool fc forum and the Ndidi Post's, what really p****** me off is that their fans seem to think, they have an entitlement to any up and coming player who is playing well. Typical of Klopp first he unsettled VVD with rumours that he really liked him as a player and wanted him in his team and now the c***  is doing the same with Ndidi. These big clubs want to have it all for them themselves

Most clubs have some sort of debt, Man U have huge debts, but they are far better placed to service them with ease to to their huge turnover. Liverpool in last accounts turned over £301m, with no CL football. They will be getting far more than that now and ours is slipping was back down, we'd be lucky to hit £150m this year.

Plus, out owners having money means nothing if they don't spend it and they've shown no willingness since the championship to do so.

I reckon we’ll get one more season out of N’didi whilst clubs watch to see if his pass completion stats improve and unforced decrease.

I was thinking the same.  Unless clubs like Liverpool think we will only sell him for 100 million if his stats get better so maybe they will take the risk at 60 mill this summer.

Dont think we should sell though

I know we bang on about the summer after our PL win alot but seeing our players cherry picked by the "big boys" just reinforces how badly we ****ed up that chance to capitalise on being champions. If we made the right signings we may have consolidated top 6 and wouldn't need to be looking over our shoulders every transfer window.

Gerrard just confirmed Can is leaving Liverpool and that they will be in the market for a holding midfieder. Bye Wilf!

Even when we won the premier league we werent suddenly attractive to high end players. I'm pretty surr Deeney didnt want to come, for example

I think now we are probably a more attractive prospect in general, despite not being in the champion's league. Less of an unknown and looking more like a top half of the table team

I like to bang on about the summer after our PL win!!! :D and we did mess up by not buying in players after our win. But hindsight is a great thing... we won the league with the players we had and apart from x1, we kept.

Liverpool may and probably will come after Wilf, but from the reports i saw he is more than happy at Leicester and along with the fact we dont need to sell him and he has a looooong contract, let them come.

What happened with Mahrez does not mean it will happen to others .. (for eg Arsenal & Vardy)

I had the same initial gut reaction -- but it's probably wrong.  Opta defines a tackle as follows:

"A tackle is defined as where a player connects with the ball in ground challenge where he successfully takes the ball away from the man in possession. All tackles are really a successful event.

A Tackle Won is deemed to be where the tackler or one of his team-mates regains possession as a result of the challenge, or that the ball goes out of play and is 'safe'.

A Tackle Lost is where a tackle is made but the ball goes to an opposition player.

Missed Tackles
This is where a player attempts to challenge for the ball and does not make it – it is calculated by adding fouls with an attempted tackle qualifier to challenge lost."

Ndidi interview coming up on Sky, of course that could mean anytime this morning knowing Sky.

If he does go this summer, it will be for a ridiculous fee.

No it won't, we will receive offers of 20 or 30 million which will be lauded as mega money offers in all the papers. We will be ripped to pieces because we don't sell.

Let's hope Liverpool had scouts at the Stoke game.

We've shown that we won't accept lowball offers, which is what I meant- we will only accept a ridiculous offer.

No interest in what the press say about us rejecting offers- they're fickle, and were soon on our side following Mahrez's antics after panning us for resisting Man City's approach.

From the Guardian:

Less selfishness in front of goal from Wilfred Ndidi

No player has taken more shots on goal in the Premier League this season than Wilfred Ndidi, whose only goal during 35 appearances in all competitions came in added time against Peterborough in the FA Cup when Leicester were already 4-1 up. While some might charitably label his selfishness as optimistic opportunism, it has irritated Jamie Vardy enough to become a press conference talking point. In his pre-match briefing before Leicester’s visit from Bournemouth, Claude Puel said he could understand Vardy’s frustration as “he wants all the balls to score”. Safe from relegation, the otherwise excellent Ndidi’s insistence on going for personal glory won’t make much difference in the Premier League, but is a foible that could ultimately cost his side dearly in an FA Cup that is very much up for grabs. It is time to the midfielder saw the error of his ways.

I think Srivadhanaprabha had already placed a big warning sign around the KP at the end of January:

KEEP OFF - DO NOT ASSUME OUR PLAYERS ARE AVAILABLE FOR TRANSFER - HOWEVER MUCH YOU MIGHT OFFER

As long as the players are happy here and they're doing their job then I can see no reason why the Sris should countenance any 'cherry-picking'. But City have to consolidate the team's potential. That will be easier given the Sris apparent commitment to the long-term. There are other owners around who are using their clubs to generate income or as a showpiece to reflect their personal 'glory'. I was going to cite Abramovitch as the exemplary owner but his capricious attitude towards his managers is a negative. You can want success too much. There's plenty of silverware and opportunity around to make the following seasons interesting.

IMHO Wilf is City's MVP (sorry - hate using Americanisms) because of his potential.

I can't disagree with any of that.

Wilf needs one to one coaching on his passing and shooting then he could become priceless.

I do think we are approaching a crossroads as a Team.

We've done really well in the T/f market despite some poor signings. ( Not bad players but not what we needed at the time. ) We now need to keep adding proven quality to fill the holes in the Team. Which is important in showing our senior players that they can achieve their Goals with us.

Otherwise we run the risk of others thinking like Mahrez and wanting out.

We could also do with a bit more height and a physical presence, As the amount of times we're out jumped or out muscled warrants attention. It is an exciting time to be a Leicester Fan and I do believe the Owners will deliver but it will take a good Summer of signings and the usual element of luck as the margins are quite small.

Wilf has been horribly unlucky with shooting / headers. I think he has had 4 - 5 wonderful saves on him in a 6 - 7 match span. If even 2 of those go in, we're 4 points higher in the table (I think?)

I dont really have a problém with Wilf shooting.  Despite his lack of success for us from there we know he's got it in him and I dont mind him having a go

I think when you get to the point telling players not to shoot you risk turning into Arsenal
