Sky and BT to show 160 gams from season 2019/2022

Hope the cost to watch it, via either company, is the same as it is now.

F&G will set a very dangerous precedent. Not far off the days of every game being televised :(.

yep.

won't be long before there's games at 11.00 or 11.30am like Spain and Italy.

Just before Christmas, there were games at 6pm in Italy before the regular 7.45pm Monday slot. That seems to have stopped now.

Think this is a drop of about half a billion ???

Didnt they pay £5.2 billion last time ???

That's just the packages announced so far so the other 2 should top it up to around the same.

Is there a limit to how many packages one company can buy?

Yeah. Paying approx 16% less per game.

PL failed to secure big rises which had previously.

Absoloute no thought about fans at all. Saturday 7.45pm is a joke - it means most away games will also require hotels etc to stay over.

Yeah I’m really not into a late Saturday kick off, don’t think the viewing figures will be as high either.

We have reached peak football pricing on UK TV

I worry what will come next to keep increasing revenue !

I just get get the feeling that we could see overseas games , huge ticket price increases , a play off to win the league , early morning KO and Late night ones , if this TV cash continues to drop they will start to get desperate

if amazon or Netflix come in and they then  find it doesn’t drive revenue or new members they will dump it ! And that would mean huge implications for future TV deals as Sky and BT it seems are finished fighting each other

Fans mean nothing to clubs , it’s all about cash now , and keeping the gravy train flowing

we have sold our soul to the devil

Definitely. Ticket prices should reflect that too. I'm pleased there's a cap on away tickets but it should be less now.

Jim White was very excited about this as YOU CAN SEE THE BIGGEST GAMES AT THE BEST TIMES but given there seems to be at least eight different kick-off times, I'm not sure when that will be.

How about this for a revolutionary idea.

All games to kick off on Saturday at 3.00 with games  on Boxing day, New years day & Easter monday also at 3.00

Highlights of games on tv on a Saturday night & regional highlights on Sunday dinner time.

The champions would then go into a European cup & runners up & both domestic cup winners could be entered into a lesser Europen competition.

Just an idea like.

They brand these numbers around like they are somewhat impressive, just disgraceful how much control these companies have over a sport and the impact they have on the fans of these clubs.

The same when the transfer windows are “slamming shut” Sky Sports presenters get themselves so excited when they are reading out that English clubs have spent half a billion pounds.

Won't happen, but if most subscribers to these TV channels cancelled their subscriptions with them, that's the only way to burst this inflated bubble..

Why is that a bad thing? Every game is already televised in other countries.

Most away games? There is 8 Saturday games in that time slot...so at most 16 teams. So at most, 8 sets of away fans. I suppose Tuesday/Wednesday late games mean fans have to have hotels and stay over too?

genuinely excited for saturday night games. i don’t go many games anymore but might try and get to some of them. used to love friday night games in the championship, imagine they’d be even better if you didn’t have work beforehand.

get up, go the boozer for the early kick off, train to london/manc or wherever, boozer for the late kick off, game, out.

cheers sky.

People dont half love bashing modern football.

The only new games are saturday nights and theres hardly any of them.

The vast amounts of money keep the club in a sound financial state.

90% of you at probably subscribe to sky or your mums and dads do and you watch.

Why are people against lots of games on tv anyway?
