Went to Five Lamps in Derby- nice Titanic Stout.  It is my personal favourite pub,   just cannot explain it but it is like a really good vibing feel with the pub itself.   It is nothing extraordinary but that makes it even more relatable.

The beer selection is decent enough,  good location being on Kedleston Road pub crawl and close to the town.  Good mixed crowd.  Does street food guests every Fridays.   However I just love the layout how the bar which is quite tiny and quaint just faces the room which wraps around it.

Derby really is an embarrassment of riches compared to Leicester. You could do there, Seven Stars, Flower Pot amd Furnace all within a few minutes' walk amd you've barely shaved the edge of the city centre.

Going to try the new Ashover brewery place in a couple of weeks. Looks top.

Just wish Leicester could make itself a destination for ITK boozing in the same way.

Cannot agree more.   You got Victoria and Albert Vaults,   The Creaky Floorboard and perhaps The Horse and Groom on the opposing side heading to the uni too.   Jonty Farmer is alright as a sports bar- bit too slick but a solid place if you want to start your pub crawl with watching a football match or something like that.

After Flower Pot, you could carry onto Olde Dolphin Inn,  Silk Mill,  Exeter Arms, Royal Standard before deciding whether to head to station via Smithfield,  Alexandra, Brunswick and finishing at Victoria Inn.  Alternatively you can head over A52 to end your pub crawl at The Peacock Inn and Tavern.    Its mad how you can just link pub crawls together on various routes in Derby.   I have not even been quite few of pubs mentioned above!

Shame about Ashbourne Road although,  I used to board at a deaf school there from Leicester and the pub crawl back in its glory day as a 18 years old was sensational.

Round tower and apse. If you are that way and interested Haddiscoe and over water at Fritton are worth your time.

I go there quite a bit. Love the church at Heckingham. Secluded and peaceful.

Looking forward to Stockport away- there's some good drinking options: The Magnet, The Crown Inn, Runaway Brewery, a few decent Robinsons pubs, and then a stop off at the Sheffield Tap on the way back

Old street tavern, from the outside looked ok and was a nice pint. Unfortunately another place colonised by recruiters and insurance salesmen driving BMWs they pay for monthly wearing cookie cutter off the rack TM Lewin/M&S shirts.

Went to the new Thornbridge pub near Farringdon yesterday - The Wild Swan. It wasn't that busy which is worrying considering they probably have/are spending a fortune on it. Hopefully it was just an off day.

I thought it would do well down there, but maybe the local punters just want a perfect pint of the black in Stonegate and M&B pubs.

Ticked off a few pubs in London over the weekend including some I've been meaning to do for a while.

Prospect of Whitby, The Fitzrovia, The Ship (Bank), The Grapes (Limehouse), Stags Head for the City game and I can't remember the name of the one directly right outside Westminster station.

The Observatory in the O2 was surprisingly good too, when in reality it should have felt like somewhere trying to be an authentic pub. It was just convenient at the time.

Off to York in two weeks time, first visit there in 8 years, surprisingly clear memories of York Tap from my last visit. Plenty of good recommendations in this thread already...Swan, Slip Inn, Brew York are all on the list.

Blue Bell, Golden Ball, the Phoenix are the best imo

Been pretty busy the few times I've been in, great gaff too - Thornbridge don't seem to miss

Did Pelt Trader yesterday in the city. Good little spot @grobyfox1990 . A refuge in the heart of M&B and Greene King land

Nice, good place! Jampot at bank and ODBH in Moorgate are decent if you've not been and don't like the happy clapper vibes of Greene King et al
