Drinking in Cologne is great too as these old school places will keep the beers coming until you signal otherwise by putting a coaster over your glass.

I got a taste for the Altbier in Dusseldorf during the euros last year. Same idea as Cologne, keep on coming until the coaster goes on top, served by proper waiters in all the get up.

Great idea, serving it in small glasses as well to make sure it stays fresh.

Jus tucked into pint number 8 at the Pelt Trader

Been before but for any lads wanting a good priced bev in bloody financeville away from your Hugos your Miles it's class - owned by the Euston / Piccadilly / Victoria Tap lot, can get a cask (from a top tier range) for under a 5er and the crowd isn't full of goblins

They've got Bad Kitty on for £5.50 a pint and I'd pay that in ****ing Leeds about 10 mins from where it's made

Did a quick one in Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese then strolled to The Duke for a couple, train back at 9.05 unfortunately.

Unbelievable vibe to London boozers on a Friday with folk spilling out onto the streets and just enjoying it, I think it's bloody fantastic.

Interior nothing to write home about mate, feels like a weird pop up, but the choice and price is unparalleled for me, especially where they're based. Never heaving either!

I'm amazed you are still writing and contributing to the thread so coherently 10 sheets into the wind. Kudos.

My partner's daughter is part of an advertising campaign for Vocation Brewery (based in Hebdon Bridge). She gets to bring a variety of IPAs, lagers & Stouts home. Most of it is really good. They have their own Tap Room in Halifax, which is very popular.

Decent sailing conditions today so with a few mates to do one last summer day out to France on his boat. Very fresh kronenbourg blanc, leffe and a local beer. I still don’t like France but on the last few day trips I’ve really enjoyed the beer

Pelt trader is brilliant. My friends old boss who set up kernel brewery was involved in pelt trader. The bell in Liverpool st is my new fave pub when working in the city

Day out in Lincoln yesterday. Fairly strong real ale pub scene.

Joiners, Victoria and the Strugglers is a cracking trifecta up the hill towards the castle. Saw a bottle of Ind Coope’s City Ale in the Victoria, which also had incredibly cheap food - burgers were like £6ish and decent too.

Fox Cub, Navigation, Swan, Pinsent. Just missed out on the cask Blue Fox - devastating… but still a great Leicestershire crawl

I see the 3 crowns is back up for lease.

Navi looked packed when I walked past 5pm yesterday.

Yeh it’s a Star/Heineken pub unfortunately, so they’ve seen it’s done well and want more rent. Apparently the current tenants have agreed a new lease with them which is good, so the Three Crowns lives on. Such a shame so many village pubs are owned by these bellends

Nice little mooch around a quiet Leicester today – Salmon, TTL, Castle, Kings Head.

Still maintain that the Salmon refurb deserves a bomb going off in the Black Country but the beer was great and all other gaffs spot on today.

TTL doing cask for £3.50(!) on a Sunday deserves more people flocking to it.

BCA are having a competition with themselves to see just how busy a pub’s decor can be. Craven Arms is nauseating

Currently sitting in The Turf at Wrexham’s ground where a pint of Wrexham Lager is ….. £4.50! Wow 🤩

It's a shithole isn't it? A real crap pub made famous by a TV programme.

Brother and his mates are getting the 11pm sleeper from Aberdeen to London next Friday night and arrive 8am Saturday.

I'm meeting them midday and thinking about Islington Flight club in the afternoon followed by an old fashioned pub crawl.

Any recommendations for decent boozers round Islington?  Age range 45 to 55.

Also near Euston if possible?

Cheers
