Ok so 2017/18 over. Leicester are already looking at players to bring in, so where do we need to strengthen ? For me we need to bring in four players, a right back, centre back, creative midfielder and a Mahrez replacement. Has Danny Simpson got one more good year in him, i'm not sure. Johnny Evans would fit the bill to replace Morgan who is fading. We now have a good selection of midfielders but only Ndidi really looks the part consistently for me. I like the look of Shaqiri at Stoke in midfield, he looks like he enjoys his pies but he's the creative player we're still missing and says he wants to leave and gave us some big problems last year. Diabate has huge potential and could replace Mahrez but is he ready yet.

Your thoughts......

Simpson, I doubt is good for any more time with Puel wanting an overlapping FB, I quite like Shaqiri, and definitely do not want Evans.

Morgan fading?  He’s almost transparent!

he is the key replacement. Get him off the pitch and ideally 2nd choice back up. And let’s ditch this captain thing as the guy is never visible when the going gets tough

This is the biggest load of bollocks that FoxesTalk loves to peddle.

He is ageing, he is slowing down and he does need to be replaced.

But he is, without question, the greatest captain we have ever had. He collected half of our trophy cabinet ffs.

Morgan has faded so quickly that I don't believe he's good enough for the bench.

We need 2 centre backs with one of those being first 11.

A goalie

Right back

Left back

Attacking midfielder

Winger

Striker (Only have 2 left as Shinji has also faded so badly)

I've never seen him as a captain on the pitch.

Huth organised the defence, without him it's been poor.

Never seems to step in to calm down the likes of Vardy when the get wound up.

Never see him gee the team up.

Get in early for Butland, Perreira, Mawson and Shaqiri - then don’t sell anyone from the first team. Musa, Benny and quite a few others could go.

I don’t think we need to stockpile strikers (or any position), we have Vardy and he’ll be good for goals. Iheanacho is coming on as either his partner or replacement. No point saying we need a big man option, we hardly used Slim or Ulloa for the last three seasons.

Yep pretty much spot on with this, I’d only go for another winger if Mahrez goes.

very true.

it's clearly visible that he's falling off but I don't understand why everyone always questions his ability to captain the team.

he must have done something right over all these years to retain the armband and not had his captaincy questioned by the team / staff.

do people expect him to whip out a hi-vis and a clipboard mid-game when we concede and wonder round the squad giving instructions, etc?

perhaps his work as a captain takes place in the dressing room, on the training pitch, on the phone in the evening - who the **** knows; but he's been captain for all of our recent success so... who are we to really question that?

He's the player's go-to-guy. They all respect Wes and know that he's in charge of them. If Wes tells them to jump then they will.

The trouble is that the players don't seem to respect the manager in the same vein. Perhaps Wes could become a manager when he retires?

Then you're watching what you want to watch.

Wes clearly has captained us through so very tough moments.

We need to significantly strengthen the defence with Huth going and Simpson and Morgan getting on in years. we need other areas to but quality over quantity. we need players that will go straight into the first team.

If mahrez goes we need to sign someone that'll make a statement, owners have to show we want to move forwards not backwards/settling.

thatll be most likely in defence you'd imagine

You think that defence looks organised under Morgan and without Huth?

So go back to a club captain and a team captain.

A new RB and CB are required desperately, in addition to Dragovic signing permanently.

A new number 10 is going to be pretty important to make our new system work- someone to link everything together.

We'll need a quality winger to replace Mahrez- we'll never get someone of his quality, so someone developing into a good player who has great potential- unfortunately players like this will always see us as a stepping stone, but plenty of clubs have had success with this model.

A new keeper? Not sure- do we need an upgrade on Schmeichel, or a back-up?

Fuchs is here for another year, and I'd imagine he will be back-up for Chilwell.

It's the first window in ages where central midfield isn't a problem area.

So really, I'd say we only need 5 signings- imperative that they are first team quality though.

The defence has been appalling this season.

But that's down to 5 men.

You can't question Morgan's ability to captain the side. I expect all 5 defenders (including the keeper) to organise the defence. Morgan isn't playing with 4 under 11s, they're all professionals and they should all take responsibility.

Morgan has worn the armband while taking the club to it's glory era. I am at a loss as to how anyone can question his leadership.

Evans- No (is he any better than what we have?)

Get dragovic in and promise him first team football. Didn't we have 5/6 games with clean sheets with him and maguire playing together?
