Again, these are the numbers leading up to May 2017.

Our profits have dwindled in the past season and our wages have increased. Different and more negative picture altogether.

Well, of course. But these accounts have only just been filed. So it’s bang up to date in that sense.

Palace were always a similar club in stature to us. Look where they are. They haven’t even filed their accounts for the same period.

We were in a good shape a year ago. Not so much any more now.

And who cares how Crystal Palace do financially? If they've got something dodgy going on, their loss.

Champion's League money funded an huge increase in transfer expenditure and wages. We don't have enough income to sustain being so lavish, we'll be alright this season due to Mahrez' transfer fee but we're going to have to be increasingly austere over the coming years. I think one of Puel's redeeming features is that he's willing to promote younger players so obviously spend less - with infrastructure investment coming in the forms of expansion and a new training ground (Puel has a experience of both at Lille and Nice) we need to be carefully managed which we're taking steps towards. Our wages/turnover ratio will be creeping over 50% which is a concern considering the next tv deal is worth less than the current one.

The age of profile of the current squad is a bit troubling but we're looking to address it with recent signings, essentially we have a minimal amount of players in their 'primes', our squad is mostly 21 and under or 30 or over so we're relying on the young players to mature so we don't have to invest in the playing squad so much when we'll be spending £100+ off the pitch over the next couple of seasons.

Long way down the list of revenues.

Edit actually, not so far when you take out the Champs League.... perhaps fans have a little more power than we realise?

Burnley in very good financial health but Leicester still have "many more pound notes" than Sean Dyche's relative paupers.:)

Surprised to read how small LCFC's fine was for breaking FFP rules in 2013/14 season. £3.1 million?

We are in good shape by any stretch of thought. We use to have board meetings about painting the turnstile gates .?

It‘s all relative.

Of course, we‘re still doing well financially, but not as well as in 2016-2017.

On a sidenote, maybe they should bring back community services for fans, anything to maintain or tighten the link with the closest supporters at least (city & county)?

I know these are up to last May but I wonder how much it would cost if someone wanted to buy the club off the owners. How's that even worked out?

Depending on what recent rating agency report you believe in, it's somewhere near the half a billion pound mark (£500m and upwards).

In other businesses than football you´d make a calculation of the avg. of EBIT (Earning Before Interest and Taxation) and multiply this by 7-10 - but this is football so who knows?..........

The fine was minimal because they proved they hadn't broken rules on purpose. Just interpreted them incorrectly and they had a good case and the FL knew they couldn't make it stick in court and trying to could cost millions in lawyer's

7th highest wage bill in the league is mental.

Agreed.

As mentioned above hopefully that will go down significantly if Puel can promote more youth.

I think it will decrease drastically anyway over the next 2 years.

Hopefully we can shift Slimani, Musa, King & Ulloa this window plus the Mahrez sale. Next summer the wage bill will go down again as high earners like Simpson, Morgan & Fuchs will be out of contract.

That was a year ago... As far as big earners are/were concerned, we‘ve only let Drinkwater go and brought in Iborra, Maguire, Iheanacho and Silva (late), so my guess is it‘s even gone up for the past 2017-18 season.

Most of the 2015/16 lads were given a bumper rise weren’t they? I imagine as they go our wage bill will drop dramatically...

Didn't know where to put: Do the owners still have a court case against them, or is that brushed under the carpet?

Yes, I agree, however I would assume that King, Ulloa, Musa and Slimani were having their wages paid by their loan clubs since Feb, and some loan fees in addition too. Also Mendy and Kapustka having their wages paid all last season, so not quite as bleak as at first glance maybe? Oh and Harvey Barnes till Christmas.

Wouldn’t assets (ie stadium freehold, training ground etc) be added?.

Yes they would. And goodwill and brand value added and eventual debts deducted.... so the value would be pretty high.... :) Its incredible really going from administration - League One to this. Who would have dreamt of it?
