I think most fans want Mahrez to leave now and its nothing to do with his ability or what he has done for us, he doesnt want to be here and the longer he is, the more potential damage he can cause in the dressing room. Of course we all would love a motivated Mahrez that wants to be here, to stay, but that mahrez doesnt exist and hasnt for at least 6 months. Anyone who thinks we should keep Mahrez when he doesnt want to here must be deluded. No player is bigger than our club!

A 'disinterested' Riyad still managed 4 goals and 4 assists in the last 13 matches (all Comps) which is more than Diabate, Gray and Albrighton managed within that time (2 assists between those three players).

Plenty of players on hefty wages (who won't get offered equivalent contracts elsewhere) so I think we'll be struggling to get any decent money back on our investments - probably have to pay off some players to move on.

Slimani, Musa, Mendy, King, Amartey, Benalouane, Ulloa and possibly Jakupovic?

Imagine Morgan, Fuchs, Okazaki and Simpson will only have one more season with us as well. I'm really surprised we've not got rid of anyone yet, especially with the shorter transfer window.

Beginning to wonder when exits will take place. Surprising that we’ve not seen any past Hamer and Huth, and a few younger players.

For me Mahrez goes first. Has to. We don't need/want a negative attitude around the start of a new regime. I predict done this week and he will start Man City's preseason on July 9th.

I think some of the deadwood will have the conversations on where they may be going in the next week or two once back training.

Its not about his goals/assists its about the damage he could cause in the dressing room. We had a massive downturn in form after his antics at the end of the january transfer window and although he cant be solely blamed for our poor form, his antics didnt help. Im actually gobsmacked after the way he acted that people want him to stay. Yes he's the best player I've ever seen for us and i will certainly miss his magic and he is irreplaceable, but he isnt bigger than our club and unless hes 100% committed (which he isnt) then he needs to leave asap.

I'm just gobsmacked people blame Riyad for our down turn in form, what are the other 10 players doing?

Some of you lot know nothing, mahrez won’t and has never affected the other players negatively, he’s not exactly a vocal character

Maybe the other 10 players were pissed off with his antics? I know i would be if i was one of his teammates. A large part of being successful in football is team spirit as we showed when we won the league. The team spirit will have taken a big knock after Mahrezgate

So they just stopped trying because they didn't like what Riyad was doing? Doubt that very much. It's an easy excuse for people to justify why we were so bad.

Agreed; except replace ‘6 months’ with 2 years despite him signing a four year deal at the time.

I’m gobsmacked that you’re gobsmacked. Do you think it was a coincidence that form plummeted after his behaviour?

I respect your opinion pal and your love for Mahrez, i also love his ability but he no longer loves Leicester and needs to be moved on asap. I think its very naive for people to think all will be happy and well if Mahrez is still here next season, unless as i say, he has a change of heart and decides he is committed to our club, which is highly unlikely. We may well struggle without him, to both score and create goals but we have to move on at some point and give a chance to players who are committed to our club.  as i keep saying, no player is bigger than our club and never will be.

My comment was just for people who bash him all the time. He needs to leave I agree but to blame our run of form on him is a bit silly IMO.

Why do you want a player to leave who should be considered one of the best buys the club has ever made, and a manager who's done ok so far but is forward-thinking and is trying to put (which it seems at the moment) to put every aspect on and off-the-field together in order for the club to have the best chance of success possible?

well, jayfox answered the first question, the 2nd one is because Puel is shit and will be gone by Christmas. You will see.

And you know this as a fact? Have you spoken to the players to find this out or are you just guessing like the rest of us? None of us know whether he has or hasn't affected the dressing room but i know i wouldn't be happy with him if he was my team mate.

You really overrate his influence, that’s all I’m saying on the matter.

The players should be grateful, him and Vardy have pretty much kept us up last season.

Yeh cos the likes of Ndidi and Maguire contributed nothing. The mahrez loving from some on here is incredible!

They are the other two outstanding players in our team, but goals win games. Those two players were the difference between top half and a relagation scrap.
