No, have a couple of 10 goal a season waiting in the wings.

Slim got 7 goals in 13 starts in 16/17. He'd get 10 goals absolutely no problem with an extended run in the team.

Same could be said of Musa, I'm sure if he had a run he'd score 10 +

Same could be said of Iheanacho, he got 3 goals when looking at 90 minute metrics over 9 games and 5 goals in 7 in the cup games, so a good run in the team and I'm certain he'd bag at least 10.

Scoring isn’t the worry, it’s how many we concede.

There seems to be this general consensus that our problems were purely defensive but I'm not so sure. There were so many occasions when we looked devoid of creativity and ideas and struggled, especially at home in the latter half of the season. We pinched the odd goal when chasing the game but I think the amount of goals we scored last season was far too complimentary on paper, plus we've lost guaranteed goals in Mahrez and have replaced him with potential in Maddison and Pereira. We've also never been a team that looks happy to just defend well and rely on a moment of brilliance to pinch us wins, we are much better on the front foot. I am not confident that just by bringing in Evans and Pereira that defensively we'll be much better so we don't need to worry about our attack.

Agreed. I'm hoping Iheanacho really picks up where he left off. Think he had a strong second half of the season (scored 8 of his 9 goals from mid-January onwards) and really started to slot in nicely alongside Vardy, particularly in those two performances against Arsenal and Spurs. He had slow and injury hit start to his time with us but, for me, he's a very strong option to have behind Vardy and one we can improve greatly too.

So you’re worried about our attack and defence?

According to the red tops, we have spent more than all other premier league clubs except Liverpool, West Ham, Man U and Arsenal.

We have bought 4 players whereas Chelsea, Everton, and Palace have bought one and Bournemouth have bought two.

We have strengthened in 4 positions that were desperately required (I include goalkeeper in that).

The level of hysteria is laughable at times.

To get the best out of our attackers we have to play a high tempo game, this has always left us exposed defensively at times but through a collective defence we've done ok. Defensively we seemed to be worse last season and took a few pastings but the recruitment of Evans and Pereira will only help if the balance of the team suits our best way of playing which is on the front foot. One more creative player will help us maintain this style of play which Puel needs to acknowledge, otherwise we'll struggle.

Certainly think Pereira and Chilwell will set the tone in terms of a playing on the front foot. I think that Maddison will be enough in terms of a creative threat to negate the loss of mahrez some what, especially seeing as he plays centrally which is turn should allow the wingers to get into some more advanced positions; something I think we didn’t truly utilise last year but could help us be on the front foot like you’ve said. This was mainly down to prioritising getting mahrez on the ball too early on in the attack and too deep. One other attacking player would help but I truly don’t see us getting anyone this summer.

Defensively I still think we’ll suffer if the fullbacks are caught out too far up and with having snails at centre back, best chance we have are some fouls but we all know how we deal with defending set pieces; which should be the priority for us to improve on defensively this season. Here’s hoping Evans can help us but Kasper has also been to blame massively with that issue.

As others have mentioned we also won’t be prioritising the ball to mahrez, which is turn should see a better balance to our team aswell, so in theory I think we should improve this season

Agreed. I think I mentioned that before myself. You would hope that a creative player in the central position will be a little more difficult to double up on for the opposition, that was really the way teams began to stop Mahrez and left us a little toothless.

In theory, that should give the likes of Gray more room to manoeuvre too and become more influential..

It’s a lot easier to double up on someone from out wide in comparison to centrally, which mahrez obviously suffered with a fair bit, Gray should be able to get running at players a bit more which is his main strength, not crosses or long distance shots which just aren’t our strength attacking wise

lol We're in full agreement, that's pretty much exactly what I said.

I dont think it's a case of Puel not acknowledging the fact we need a creative player to replace Mahrez. He will know this, but hes not the one trying to sign players. Puel will have given some targets for the club to get to replace Mahrez and after that it's out of his hands. I dont think we'll sign another player this window unless we can shift some first. Our wage bill is being crippled by players that won't even play next season.

Looking at this it seems to me that we haven't done too badly in the transfer market compared to some.

To be fair we've signed 4 players, 3 of which are likely to go straight into the first 11 (hopefully) and Ward will be an upgrade on Jak.

The issue lies when you look at some of the players the club's around us are signing that I would have loved to see us go for - Seri, Moutinho, Adama Traore, Mawson, Felipe Anderson etc.

Its like having a fit Mrs and being very happy with your fit Mrs, but then your mate gets a fitter Mrs and you hate him for it.

I mentioned somewhere else on here earlier that we are the 5th highest spenders in pre-season. That could change of course but it's hardly the disaster some would have us believe as things stand.

I must admit, I'm starting to get a bit concerned about the lack of time left and rumours surrounding wingers- are we happy going into the season with the options we've got?

I'm more than happy to give Gray a proper shot on the right now Mahrez has gone- I think he will be far more comfortable and effective there and can hopefully kick on in time. That leaves us with Albrighton and Diabate for the left. I love Albrighton, but he's not the most creative player. Diabate is still very raw.

Hopefully Maddison can step up, but if he struggles we're left with Vardy as our only match winner, and that's dangerous territory.

I have an actual answer to this thread.

You should start when you hear about a possible new signing, then go onto Twitter to look for sources, and find the top result is SeanFromEnderby.

I am worried, same manager, and almost same team as the one that finished last season so badly, and if maguire does go, I can see relegation.  If we keep him I think we will at least be in a relegation battle.  A wake up call for the owners this season.

I might start to worry tonight after the final whistle.
