Baffled as to why people want to persist with Musa.

Granted he had a decent WC but his record playing for us is awful.

He can barely trap the ball, can't cross and doesn't score many goals.

This.

His international record is pretty shite as well, he's just had a couple of good games at the World Cup.

It's mental he's now being seen as a viable option, do people even remember just how utterly shocking he was at times? That time he fell over the ball and crossed it into the crowd at Bramall Lane? It was embarrassing.

The real problem is that he's one option from a bunch of poor options. If we had a reliable 2nd striker I think he'd have been gone.

I defended him for quite a while for the same reasons as some are still defending him (confidence player, never had a decent run, moved about in position, shy fella who'll take longer to settle than some) but I have accepted I was probably wrong.

I'm usually the type to defend players, even when they have been shite as I don't believe anyone steps onto the pitch to actually play badly but, for most, he's become impossible to defend.

Cheer up lads, it was a fitness boosting session with many first-teamers either absent or getting their first taste of preseason action. Iheanacho is back on the scoresheet and Harvey Barnes bagged 2 for West Brom against Cov!

I seem to remember so many saying how good he was when we signed him. He was also the best thing since sliced bread after Barca. Instead of making players out to be world super stars then slag them off. Why can't people judge them after a dozen games. And games that count not pre season shite fixtures.

.......he looked like one of our best players today. Showed a lot of confidence and linked well with Maddison. Did not see too many of our players willing to show for the ball and all seemed poor in possession.

Strange when he went out on loan his game picked up and his performance in the world cup showed what confidence can do when you are played in the right position.

There is no way he will prosper at this club with Vardy in the team, so a sale is the only viable option for both parties.

Unfortunately didn't get to see the game but that sounds just like the Claude Puel side we all loved watching for the last four months of last season.

Ahmed Musa in the 16/17 season only started 7 games in the league, and made 14 sub appearances.

The most consistent run of starts in the league he got was 4 games, where he also scored 2 goals.

So it is very easy to say he didn't get given a good chance.

How can you expect a player to perform consistently well for us when he only gets to play 15 or 20 minutes every so often?

Started 16 games in a row for CSKA (yes in a weaker league but still) and gets 7 goals.

Easy to see that if he gets a chance at starting a regular amount of games, he could score goals for us.

From memory most of his starts were also wide on the left of a midfield 4 when the entire team was playing terribly.

Think it’s pretty clear even with new signings, we have the makings of a good first 11 with the bench decent enough to replace first team players.

The rest are just picking up a wage with no desire to push there way into Puels plans.

Some players know they are on too good money to be moved on. And are happy to stick to the rules, train and collect the cash.

Feel team harmony is wanting and we have a split squad, those good enough, couple of young lads and the rest serplus to requirements.

We can all name 7/8 players that shouldn’t or won’t feature and need moving on, I’m sure the club are trying, but with no takers.

Until this squad is trimmed massively, then can we see a tight nit group of players all singing from the same hymn sheet, and pulling in the right direction.

He has had two years.

Two years to force his way into the team, two years to impress in training and two years to at least do something for the U23s.  His limited appearances are not because he wasn't given a chance but because when he was given opportunity he has looked awful.

He has never been given a real opportunity in the first team.

And he only got to make 5 appearances for the u23s, and in those he contributed 3 assists.

He was never going to force Vardy or Mahrez out, which only left the position which every manager has liked Albrighton in.

What is he meant to do when he doesn’t get given a run of games to show he is worth using?

Very harsh to judge him on the odd 20 minute appearance.

Especially as given the one time he did get given a run of games, he did perform.

Maybe only preseason and cannot always draw many conclusions but........I am very worried that we look clueless from the perspective of having a pattern of play .....the second half of last season we looked a shadow of a creative, fast football team and sadly we do not look any better in preseason - more possession maybe but it goes nowhere and we have so little threat or creativity which although JM is promising he cannot be expected to be the messiah...

SO bloody frustrating that we have had the best side in the clubs history and we have not made strides forward and the current manager I have absolutely no confidence in........hopefully I am completely wrong and over the next 6 weeks i will have to come on and eat my words...................i fear not!!

We will have to agree to differ.

He has made 33 appearances for us.  Yes, a lot of them were cameos, but in two years he has failed to impress three different managers.  When he has played he has often looked technically awful without even being able to demonstrate the basic fundamentals like controlling the ball.

There is a reason he hasn't been selected for the first team and doesn't even make the bench.

If you think we should keep him, do you really think that a run of games will transform him into a premier league footballer?

The same pattern as emerged with a lot of our new signings, give them 10 minutes here and there, never a consistent run of games and then they get written off as shit,Slimani is an excellent option if we played to his strengths and I’m sure we could get more from musa, and a similar story now with Kelechi, the same people wo don’t give players a chance are the same ones who give managers like Puel too many chances.

Never changed my mind never been totally convinced. But we have to have stability and give the manager and players time.constant change will result in eventual disaster.
