Claudio Ranieri awaits invitation to say farewell to Leicester fans since sacking

To start off.. winning the league was amazing and i enjoyed every moment, But lets not forget that we were very lucky to even win it. Most of the big teams were faultering with inconsistent performances / dropping points and somehow we didnt get any injuries. I really dont want our club to become Notts Forest-esk and always going backwards 30 years to give themselves a pat on the back. Can we just move on and leave it be. Let other teams validate the PL win, not ourselves. its becoming rather cringey on here.

First of all 2 years ago is hardly like going on about something that happened nearly 40 years ago, secondly your assessment of the title winning season is wrong, we were the best team over that season and we're deserved champions. Plenty of things to moan about on here, remembering the title winning season is not one of them.

Every team that wins the league gets lucky in some sort of way, it’s a given. But you don’t become the best team just by being lucky. We won the league by one of the biggest winning margins in PL History. That’s not lucky. That’s being the best team over a sustained period. We lost 3 games all season. We found ways to win where and how others couldn’t.

Also.... your profile picture is the night where we were confirmed premiership champions....

I'm used to having our achievement downplayed by ignorant journalists with their own bias.

I'm still really disappointed when I see it actually being downplayed by our own fans.

I'm not sure if they're brainwashed by what they read from the aforementioned or just that desperate to be edgy they'll say anything to be contradictory but it's tragic either way.

Again, I don’t see that many people harping on about it.

Yes it’s being discussed in this thread but it’s the nature of the discussion.

However, I’ve noticed you seem to bring up a few times even if it’s not being discussed.

The whole thread is about a man who won us the league... no further comments.

We won the league with a budget and a team that in total cost around 35million. We not only competed but we beat clubs with a far greater reputation than our own. This is the biggest accomplishment in football to show a small group of rejected players can go onto dominate the league. I say dominate as we lost only 3 games. Playing excellent football and defending as a team. There is a huge likelihood that we will never ever see this day for the rest of our lives. We should always remember this and never worry what other clubs feel and say that there club was failing.

Chelsea won the league after us, and people will say only Guardiolas first season. Man City won it and can say Chelsea players stopped playing for Conte / United were playing boring negative football, Wenger was in his final season at Arsenal, Liverpool were waiting until chrstimas for VVD to sort there defence out. And this season can say Mourinho lost respect of his players and already an injury to KDB at Man City etc. Never ever stop to remember the best times in our clubs history. We won the league and deservedly so as we were the best team over the course of a season by 1O points.

We won the league because we were the best team that year. Most wins, fewest defeats, one of the top scorers and second best defence.

Were we the best ever champions? No. Did we deserve to win it that year? Absolutely.

the start of the post sounds like something an opposition fan would come up with who was bitter about the title win. strange.

He deserves the chance to return and meet the players and staff he knew as well as the supporters after what he achieved for the club.

Certainly can't see the owners rejecting this type of opportunity happening.

Bring him on with Alan Birchenall at half-time during an upcoming game would be best imo.

I understand how Claudio feels.

I'm still waiting for a dinner invite from the ex-wife

**** that. The greatest sporting achievement in history of sport let alone football. Yes don’t be a dick about it but shout it loud and proud for the rest of our lives. My 5 and 3 year old girls already know to kiss the commemorative plaque by the front door which was supposed to celebrate our win but really their memory was finding daddy in a prosecco induced coma on the lounge floor.

Hardly cringeworthy material, its pure genius more like, and its perfectly appropriate to the situ.
