He deserves the chance to return and meet the players and staff he knew as well as the supporters after what he achieved for the club.

Certainly can't see the owners rejecting this type of opportunity happening.

Bring him on with Alan Birchenall at half-time during an upcoming game would be best imo.

He's welcome back anytime!  I think we will all only realise what an achievement it actually was in around 50 years time, when Claudio is no longer with us and we are all grey and old!

Personally, I disagree with him being presented to the fans etc.

Players and staff he managed still at the club.  In the future yes sure but it’s only a few seasons ago.

We are becoming Forest in some ways and doing it at some incredible accelerated pace.

I did smile at a section of our fans who chanted at Liverpool "just like Forest you live in the past" yet every week they are among the same people that stare, stand and clap us lifting the PL trophy on the big screen prior to kick off.

It would certainly be a distraction.

If you're a player and you played for him then it could be an uncomfortable experience. If you're the crowd, it'll be tempting to sing his name throughout the game, at a time when we should be focused on the occasion at hand (remember O'Neill talking about how distracting a Mexican wave can be for players?). If you're Puel, it could be awkward to have your fans (many of which would love to have Ranieri back) singing the name of one of his predecessors.

I'd agree that players shouldn't feel awkward just because Ranieri is there, they shouldn't be distracted, Puel shouldn't be bothered by what the fans are chanting. But these things can happen, and while things are going well I'm not sure why we need to run the risk. We're at the beginning of a new era, it doesn't feel like the time to look back.

At half-time during a meaningless end of season game, maybe. Or if things are going horribly wrong and the crowd need some livening up, equally. Other than that, I'd put this on hold until the wounds have had a touch longer to heal.

I`d welcome him back with open arms if he`s given the chance to come back and say his farewells, do it whilst it`s still fresh in our minds cus we will never see it again in our lifetimes..... depending on how old you are? im 95.... lol

It`s a montage of our "recent" history is it not ? the remarkable journey from League one to Premier League champions !

The video starts in black n white so not very recent.

Our title win was only just over two years ago. Liverpools was almost 30 years ago (a different era).

Maybe at the last home game of the season, it would be lovely to show our appreciation for him.

irrespective of timing re the current manager, I’m not so sure that his public message after his sacking where he pointedly thanked everyone bar the owners. I doubt that went down too well. it was no surprise but in a culture where face is important I suspect Claudio will have to wait a while longer for his invitation ..........

I would love to see him back but the timing is not right at the moment.

Puel is still under pressure and still not accepted by many.  I think we need to wait until Puel is more established rather than undermining him by parading a title winner.

I agree with this. If we did it now, it could seem to undermine Puel which would send the wrong message.

Ranieri absolutely deserves a send off and he should always be welcome back. It might not have worked out in the second season, but by god was that first one special

Jesus ****ing christ boys.

It was 2016, two years ago. Half the team are still at the club for gods sakes.

Forest and Liverpool last won the league when the average clubs playing budget was like tuppence hapeny and a box of cheerios, their star players were the best Inverness had to offer and half of their supporters weren't even born.

We won the league pulling off the biggest coup of all time against squads that cost about billions from all over the world and we did it with a couple of scruffs from non league and the championship, a manager everyone laughs at and IT WAS ONLY TWO ****ING YEARS AGO.

Get a BIT of perspective, right!?

You're both normally fairly sensible but come on.

He shows up to Chelsea all the time. Whether it be training or a game. Do the same here if you really want to and the “goodbye” will fall into place.

Well he lives locally and he was their manager more than a decade ago. to come here means a trip ..... how often would he just find himself ‘in the area’?

The time will come ....... just be a shame that most of the players will have moved on by then....................

It's quite interesting when you watch the Goals on Sunday segments with Ranieri. Poor Ben Shepherd and Chris Kamara are trying very, very hard to coax some decent answers out of him when they turn to us. He's clearly very uncomfortable when the subject turns to us and title. Whether he's bored of it, whether he doesn't like it, I don't know. His enthusiasm in discussion seems fine until it turns to us.

People celebrate Christmas every year, i celebrate the miracle of the title winning season and always will.

Agree completely. The man is a legend and does deserve to be honored, but it would be distracting right now.

Do you really think our owners/players/manager would appreciate him just rocking up at the stadium?

Imagine your old boss walking into your office and everyone greeting him in open arms in front of his successor. Bit awkward init? It’s unfair on Puel tbh, now’s not the time.
