Claudio Ranieri awaits invitation to say farewell to Leicester fans since sacking

I'd like to see him back at some point, but we can't dwell on the past- we're in a new cycle under Puel and we look to be building something great again. I'd rather concentrate on and get behind that than look back on former glories at this stage.

Imagine your old boss walking into your office and everyone greeting him in open arms in front of his successor. Bit awkward init? It’s unfair on Puel tbh, now’s not the time.

you're spot on!

He shows up to Chelsea all the time. Whether it be training or a game. Do the same here if you really want to and the “goodbye” will fall into place.

I would love to see him back but the timing is not right at the moment.

Puel is still under pressure and still not accepted by many.  I think we need to wait until Puel is more established rather than undermining him by parading a title winner.

Spot on. Not yet imo.

Not doubting you, and don't have time to research, but does he? Or did he turn up at training last week knowing there was no chance of bumping into Roman

As for Claudio, maybe he can come manage King's international 11 for his testimonial, oh wait Claudio may well be 95 himself by then lol

Well he lives locally and he was their manager more than a decade ago. to come here means a trip ..... how often would he just find himself ‘in the area’?

The time will come ....... just be a shame that most of the players will have moved on by then....................

He obviously wants to say his goodbyes and you can’t blame him because of how it ended. Maybe he needs to get in contact and offer the olive branch. Make it less formal like he did at Chelsea. There use to be relationship there at one point, which obviously broke down when the sacking happen. He clearly wants to come back and part of mending that relationship maybe through the right channels trying to reconnect rather than announce it on a Sunday television programme. It shows the owners up for no reason. That is never going to get him an invite except to show him up which really doesn’t help anyone.

They may have tried this but one option may have been to organise a friendly when he was at Nantes.

Do you really think our owners/players/manager would appreciate him just rocking up at the stadium?

Most VIPs do not just rock up. The agents organise the tickets or security entries. If he makes the application and gets rejected. He has his answer from the owners.

Maybe at the last home game of the season, it would be lovely to show our appreciation for him.

I did smile at a section of our fans who chanted at Liverpool "just like Forest you live in the past" yet every week they are among the same people that stare, stand and clap us lifting the PL trophy on the big screen prior to kick off.

All fans of these clubs, have the right to remember......

the generations of fans who saw their individual clubs achievement, are will alive and kicking, and all seen their own clubs bad years..

our own first generation, after the title as it still in their young bones...But old cronies from 1950 until that splendid season,

took our bodies, all over the old core grou nds, stomped our cold freezing feet, ate at super greasy spoons, and a few dire ones...

Fans terrace banter...one can chant what they like..."Nobodies". can abound part of the fun....,No matter when...All fans who tread and suffered

embrace, laughed and cryed following their heros, have the bloody right to remember their triumphant days...!!!  We no exception over the

Next 100 yrs...Just hope/dream the Puel-revolution...pushes those high memories...onto a 2nd rang of Banter

I know, I was replying to a message from someone suggesting he should just rock up lol

Back to Ranieri....I don't see at this point, where we could fit him in.

Maybe,just maybe...on the LCFC.tv channel..!!

is there a way, without being too obtrusive to the present management team...they are here, because in taking the title,

he stays a legend, but so much it hurt, when he failed to take us further...other than nose diving, out of the P L..

United don’t seem to have a problem with Ferguson. Maybe that is their problem.

I’m not sure what effect Ferguson has still being around, but it’s well documented that it was very difficult for managers after Sir Matt Busby with him attending every game.

Just trawled the thread as I couldn't understand what had happened to kick start the clamour now to have him back and so went back to the start to read the article.  I am still non the wiser.  It seemed he was asked a question, answered it and now we have largely created a thread based on nothing really. He will go down in history and maybe have a 5 or 10 year anniversary kind of tribute or maybe even a Q&A night with him but right now I believe we need to focus on the future and not the past.

And let's be honest, United haven't exactly punched at their previous weight since Ferguson stepped down.

I see Wenger hasn't been anywhere near Arsenal yet though.

Personally, I disagree with him being presented to the fans etc.

Players and staff he managed still at the club.  In the future yes sure but it’s only a few seasons ago.

We are becoming Forest in some ways and doing it at some incredible accelerated pace.

I think this is a bit of an exaggeration, however, i did find the "champions of england, more recent than you" chant at utd extremely cringeworthy.

We should ask him back, so the fans can give him a rousing, standing ovation. One of our stands should be named after him, for the unique feat of winning the "Premiership" title. The man will always be a legend, and his name will always be remembered in the annals of our history. Thanks again Claudio. :appl:

Inviting Ranieri back to make a half time appearance with the Birch when half the ground are singing his name & the other half are having a fag outside or a piss in the toilet would be an absolute insult to the great man.

The Kings return deserves the biggest of receptions & I have no doubt the owners/club are waiting for the right moment.

....I’m sure the new stand that’s in the pipeline won’t be named the ‘East Stand’!

Is it just me or Ranieri playing the victm?

It's you I think. He would obviously like to come. This is the club of the his greatest achievement. And he's not exaggerating a slight to gain pity or claim the moral highground. And he's probably not got much else on at the moment.

I really don't think it would be that disruptive if he came tbh. Get a few more wins down and they'd be less pressure on Puel and the fans would be happier.
