As a Fan, surely you should be behind him until he does something that makes us worse. Him not 'floating your boat' surely is just a personal thing about his personality, which should have no baring on his performance as a manager. Just my opinion really....

He does stuff that makes us better (eg. young players) and he does stuff that make us worse (tactics... no response to opposition changes... substitutions etc) - but he is no leader... personally I think he's a nice straight uo kinda guy - so inspite of me liking him as a human he aint the one to manage our club...

I see your point, however isn't that with most managers? Good points and bad? Even title winning season... Ranieri didn't really have a plan B, its just that plan A worked extremely well most of the time. He didn't really make any amazing substitutions or genius tactical decisions...

yes it is a balances - for me the leadership thing trumps all the rest.

Actually he did, when things wasn’t working e.g Okazaki he would bring on Ulloa, and when we conceded a corner he would leave 3 attackers up front, now every player stays back even Vardy

Yes, however on so many occasions I remember games where Albrighton would be crossing the ball in to Vardy and it wouldn't work, Ranieri would bring on Ulloa (or Slimani) and also take off Albrighton and we would be playing down the middle instead of crossing the ball. Anyways we transgress, my point was simply that most managers have positives and negatives. Puel doesn't seem like an authoritative figure as he's not loud and animated, however there have been plenty of successful managers with that style.

I understand your team and maybe for an away game this would work. But at home we can not play 3 holding midfielders. However 352 with maddison behind Iheanacho and Vardy looks frightening.

It doesnt have to be that they play a holding pattern.  Pushed up the pitch, giving us control of the ball and providing Maddison with the space and protection to create was the idea.  Plus with Vardy not in the team, its quite difficult to think how it should look with what’s available.

What does this even mean?

Defend 10 deep and punt the ball upto Vardy?

Yes yes Morgan has been shackled that's why he's been so poor... Makes perfect sense

People don't think Vardy should be dropped - fair enough

Vardy's angry - fair enough

Someone's leaking our tactics to the press - unacceptable

Rebekah Vardy is using her husband to interfere with the squad, spirit and tactics - ridiculous, unacceptable

Someone's doing this a day before a match - unacceptable

Exactly.

Dropping vardy annoys me but the player power clearly still dominating the club worries me more.

Absolutely. I think we need to look beyond the manager in place and our views of him and decide whether this is correct.

I agree 352, without Vardy maybe he will go for Shinji and Iheanacho.

I just can not see 3 cm with Mendi, Ndidi and Iborra all too defensive minded. Maybe 2 of those and Adrien Silva could work?

How very respectful and constructively critical this is - an example to us all.

Cannot be bothered to put much effort into the reasons why he needs to go anymore, other than a few sentences of ‘sack him now’ context. Watching us has become a predictable bore, much like the pure blindness of Claude’s fanboys support after every defeat.

The snake is still within the club. Our owners need to back our manager find the snake. Then warn the snake if a player shut your mouth or your out. If not a player sacked on the spot.

This player power shite must stop.

Hmm... let's see if I can think of a few examples off the top of my head...

Southampton away, they're down to 10 and the game's there for the taking. All Puel does is like-for-like

substitutions (Gray who's playing up front off for Okazaki) and it needs Maguire taking things into his own hands by venturing forward and having a speculative pop for us to get the 3 points against a very poor side.

Away to Bournemouth and 3-0 down, two defensive midfielders and a back four for the entire 90 minutes (SIX defensive outfield players on the pitch for the duration).

At home to Everton and 2-1 down with 10-men, takes Maddison off (your one player who can stick a free kick in the top corner out of nowhere) and Okazaki on for a winger in the 86th minute was the first time he did anything near throwing caution to the wind.

At home to Liverpool we get them rocking for a good 15 minutes by getting at them and closing down quickly for the first time all game. The most adventurous Puel gets in search of an equaliser? Maddison off, Amartey on.

Arsenal away we try and sit in for the last 10 minutes of the first half and invite Arsenal onto us. The start of the second half is more of the same with Iheanacho and Vardy shunted out wide and Maddison our most advanced player through the middle.

Puel constantly has defence front of mind and it's no wonder that Vardy has suffered. When he's one of only 4 offensive players on the pitch and he thrives off people in and around him supplying him and letting him play on the shoulder of the last man it's no wonder he's hugely frustrated by what's going on around him.

So, yeah, take the shackles off Puel.

The issue is that whoever plays upfront is our only goal threat, Maddison doesn’t offer much in open play. Iheanacho isn’t much of a threat behind Vardy. Gray, Albrighton and Ghezzal have pathetic goal scoring records.

Obviously, it’s massively difficult to replace Mahrez but stylistically we didn’t, Mahrez shot from good locations often, none of our other wingers do.

This was a spectacular example of taking a statement made about one player and a team system and attributing it to another completely different player to try and make a completely unrelated point. No wonder you're confused if you frequently miss the point...

Isn't this what you said?

The entire team being the point I made a joke out of...

I think some people are confusing players with their wives. Their partners aren't employees of the club and can have whatever opinion they like - the same issue came up in 2015 with Albrighton's partner and I didn't see why it was relevant then.

Of course, Vardy doesn't need to like Puel either, just like Albrighton may well have disliked Pearson. That they do their job is the key issue, and - if we work on the principle that he ran off with a stomach bug, rather than in a strop (which all the evidence points towards) - I'd say Vardy has done his job as effectively as anyone over the course of Puel's reign.

If he were to express a negative opinion of the manager, I think in that case the manager has to be supported, though when a guy who's been a tremendous club servant (and, over the course of time, a tremendous player for Puel) is involved we might be inclined to keep a more open mind on the matter. But that hasn't happened yet, as far as I know.

As for 'snakes' at the club, I never bought into all this talk when Ranieri lost his job. For me, recruitment was poor, Ranieri made some glaring errors and heads dropped, there was never any open dissent and Ranieri has since said he had the support of the players. And I don't think a lack of conviction had anything to do with Shakespeare's departure.

If there have been or are snakes at the club, you'd expect them to be either sidelined or gone by now. But I've got little or no real reason to believe that this is a problem.

Anyway, I was led to believe everything was fine and dandy between Vardy and Puel.

When I claimed Vardy is probably frustrated and not happy at the moment many on here claimed there was no problems and even saw Vardy and Puel sharing a laugh and joke on the touchline only the other week.

We clearly haven't prepared for Vardy not being in the side through suspension, sickness/injury or lack of form.

I think Puel is the only person who was content for us to lose 3 strikers and risk Vardy alone.

We have no player realistically knocking on the door

All eggs in one basket reeks of stupidity
