You could not do that, complain through the relevant channels, remain dignified and keep your focus on commemorating the man being talked about.

Disgusting comments but calls for the sack and public shaming aren't the right way to go about things. His employer will reprimand him appropriately.

To do that, stood next to his memorial is ****ing despicable. Hope the **** loses his job.

 

The media coverage has been largely excellent and respectable, but I think they're hanging around a little too long and updating a little too regularly now.

 

I won't tar "The Media" with the same brush, as there has been some calamitous reporting, but you can't blame that on everyone.

Same, this is a time to rise above snide remarks. 

As inappropriate as it is, people will have these 'opinions'. 

The guy is a a disrespectful human but to draw attention to him gives people like this what they want. He'll get what's coming to him. But for  now be a better person, forget him and celebrate the life of a true gentleman and a legend of our city

Agree, let's keep it classy on here.  Awareness raised, links to places to make a formal complaint shared and our views on what was done very clear.  Lock the thread and let the proper action be taken by those who can.

As in every walk of life there are those who are vile scum, it’s just that the media, by its very nature, attracts more of these bottom feeding lowlifes. They are not all like it by any means, but there are a good many.

Complaint sent to BBC:

 

I would like to make a complaint regarding the conduct of your employee, Dan Roan, whilst he was at Leicester City's King Power Stadium, reporting on the sad and untimely death of club chairman, Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha.

 

He was heard to have been making insensitive, offensive and disrespectful comments regarding Vichai's family, in a public place, insinuating that Vichai had a 'mistress' who was also in the helicopter with him when it unfortunately crashed. I find this deeply distasteful to hear, given the timing is so soon after five people died, and given the fact he was at the place where Vichai was being remembered. As a usually well-respected member of your Sports Correspondence team, I would expect him to be professional at all times. Despite the words being said off-air, I think it should not matter that he was caught saying these offensive remarks while a camera was still running. The coverage was from Sky News in which a conversation was being had between Dan Roan, a female journalist from Sky and another male (identity unknown).

 

I hope that you will address this complaint with the seriousness in which it is made. Not least out of respect for those who have perished on Saturday 27th October. I think not only is it disrespectful to those who passed away, but to their families and friends who were attending the site. I am also extremely hurt that someone of Dan's experience and position would be so callous to make such remarks at a time that is still very raw and sensitive for many who wanted to pay their respects. 

 

I look forward to hearing your reply.

It isn’t news that the media are generally scumbags, unfortuntely. 

 

There are some gems still ofcourse, but they’re rare, most will build you up and smash you down to sell a story, whether it’s true isn’t important. Media is rarely good.
