He has had to deal with a lot in his time here and he has carried himself professionally and with dignity. I think he was doomed to fail from the start. His style and personality were not a good fit, for us or the premier league. What he has done is laid the foundation for the next manager with a young squad that has been working on the technical side of the game and improving as footballers, if the right manager can come in and fire them up and get the tactics right that play to our strengths without regressing to “Vardyball” they will reap what Puel sowed, sadly I don’t think Puel would ever have got the benefits of his work as after 16 months he was still making the same mistakes. Thank you Claude, it was never personal, but you were the wrong fit for the club. I don’t agree with all of these sentiments, but with many of them. Admirable and well-worded post.

As for his style of football Puel should be playing to his squad's strengths not trying to force them to play a way just to suit his idealogy. Ah, That's where Alf Ramsey went wrong.
String fellow Posted 24 February 2019 Posted 24 February 2019 Claudio, Craig, Claude, Chris? Were Leicester City really cruel, To sack their manager, Claude Puel? The sad truth is that, in order to dual, Our players' engines needed more fuel. With not much in, we lost to Palace, City performing like one limp ph*ll*s. (I hope that that doesn't sound too callous.) The man coming soon will surely rally us! Onwards and upwards will be the cry, With negative thoughts fully gone by. Going up the league, 'til up on high, And Forest fans heaving a big sigh! We love to challenge at Leicester City. So managers get sacked, more's the pity, But when it comes to the true nitty-gritty, We can't accept anyone who's at all bitty. Only the very best fellow will do, To stop the chance of many a boo. Pep's got quality through and through, But if he won't come, then exactly who? Another from Spain, Rafa by name, Is one the of men that's in the frame. He got the knack to change a game, And take the wrap if he's to blame. If we want a new name starting with 'C', Hughton's the man, it's got to be. Whoever Top chooses, they won't come free. So Howe about Eddie? He'll do for me. 'Up the Blues' is often the shout, We all know what the game is about. Players are tiles to the manager's grout, So let's try to beat them all with a rout!

cropstonfox Posted 24 February 2019 Posted 24 February 2019 Picked up by another arsehole 2 hours previously. Well done.At the end of the day he was a shit Manager who had no plan or tactial awareness.

Winning the French League with all due respects is way down the list of achievements by comparison.

Yes quite true, But he done it by doing it his way and changing football for the future. Whether Puel would have succeeded we'll never know now.
The Wizard Posted 24 February 2019 Posted 24 February 2019 Thanks for believing in the youngsters... maybe too many to have in this league...but all the same... you were definitely different...

No I wasn’t Why don’t you go back and reread what was posted You said Puel had one “diddly squat” I referenced his ligue one win with Monaco You then basically said well that’s tinpot compared to the World Cup which I’m not disputing Please feel free though to quote my post which supposedly proves your assertion

MC Prussian Posted 25 February 2019 Posted 25 February 2019 Merci, Claude. Merci pour avoir supporté les jeunes footballeurs dans notre équipe. Merci pour ton comportement délicat durant la crise après l'accident hélicoptère l'automne passé. Mais ça, c'est tout. Bonne chance de retour en France.

shailen Posted 25 February 2019 Posted 25 February 2019 A decent manager - had a different perspective and tried to progress us into the next level which looked good for a while but ultimately we didn't have the players to do what he was trying to implement and he was too stubborn to adapt and that was his downfall imo.
foxy boxing Posted 25 February 2019 Posted 25 February 2019 Thank you Cluade for promoting youth, we have a lot of good young players that with the right coaching can perform for us for years.
Woodsey1727 Posted 25 February 2019 Posted 25 February 2019 Thanks for trying to make us not rely on counter attacking football and thanks for giving the young players a chance and developing their game
Livid Posted 25 February 2019 Posted 25 February 2019 I think he was a decent man, who just failed to engage the fans or the players, it's almost like the dice was loaded against him from the start. He tried to change the style of the team and bring through a lot of youngsters. It was never very pretty and unfortunately we progressed from a team who would win ugly into a team who played some good stuff but were just too easy to beat.

David Hankey Posted 25 February 2019 Posted 25 February 2019 Well we were warned by some Southampton fans. Shame Puel couldn't improve on his record at Southampton here at Leicester.
