isaidno Posted 21 April 2019 Posted 21 April 2019 Brecel vs Wilson is a hard watch. Already had a re rack in the final frame.

SouthStandUpperTier Posted 21 April 2019 Posted 21 April 2019 It's now the longest frame in history of the World Champs.
Innovindil Posted 21 April 2019 Posted 21 April 2019 Loved that. Awful for the viewer but a frame like that is a true test of fortitude.
kingfox Posted 21 April 2019 Posted 21 April 2019 Great bottle from Wilson to take on that double. Fantastic drama.
Lionator Posted 21 April 2019 Posted 21 April 2019 That double by Wilson is the shot of the tournament right there. Incredible tension.

You have to take into account the situation- one mistake and the match is gone. Some excellent safety play before Wilson pulled clear. Although Peter Ebdon should've been on commentary for personal experience of slow play
EastAnglianFox Posted 22 April 2019 Posted 22 April 2019 Not the most inspiring start for Selby, 2 down already

isaidno Posted 22 April 2019 Posted 22 April 2019 Think Selby might get his longest frame record back here
foxes_rule1978 Posted 22 April 2019 Posted 22 April 2019 Selby’s safety is poor, just saw his pot success is 91%, so not bad when in the balls... he just isn’t getting in because he isn’t forcing errors
Innovindil Posted 22 April 2019 Posted 22 April 2019 Selby needs to give his head a wobble or this is all over.
EastAnglianFox Posted 22 April 2019 Posted 22 April 2019 All players look bad when out of form but Selby takes it to another level at times
Izzy Posted 22 April 2019 Posted 22 April 2019 I do wonder about Selbys motivation these days. Three time world champ, over £5m in on table earnings, big house now completed, settled family life, 2 big cars, indoor pool and practice area, etc. etc. He’s living the dream and made for life. I just wonder if he still wants/needs it as much as some of the others?
SouthStandUpperTier Posted 22 April 2019 Posted 22 April 2019 Selby starting to rediscover his mojo. The World Champs are made for him. The longer format gives him the chance to play his way into form.
EastAnglianFox Posted 22 April 2019 Posted 22 April 2019 Its a good job this young lad is young and has been pretty naive or else Selby could have been gone by now. 7-7 now by the looks of it....could be a late one.
EastAnglianFox Posted 22 April 2019 Posted 22 April 2019 Can see why he's getting angry with himself, bloody staring to do my head in how average he's playing. Maybe Stephen Hendry is right, perhaps it is starting to affect him with how he's perceived by many fans and hes not as mentally tough away from the table as he is on it?
foxes_rule1978 Posted 22 April 2019 Posted 22 April 2019 Really struggling, even in this session despite leading and winning 5 of the last seven frames... not been playing comfortably at all. Everything seems hard work for him
purpleronnie Posted 22 April 2019 Posted 22 April 2019 As great as it is to see a local lad do well, Selby aint half boring to watch.

Everything seems hard work for him I feel like he's always been like that though. It's never particularly straightforward but he has this uncanny ability to win while being outplayed.
