Lionator Posted 24 April 2019 Posted 24 April 2019 If Ronnie, Trump and Allen all get knocked out in the first round then you really have to say it's opened up for Mark Selby in that bottom half. Has to play himself into form though.

TiffToff88 Posted 24 April 2019 Posted 24 April 2019 Whenever I see the name of Trump's opponent, I always think of this guy...
purpleronnie Posted 24 April 2019 Posted 24 April 2019 These 1st round matches inspired me to go and have a game for the first time in around 20 years, I was amazed that I could play at the same level I did all those years ago......bloody awful. It does make you realise how unbelievably talented these players are though.

I know the feeling, i play fairly regularly, and have done for nearly 30 years. i'm probably about as good now as i was when i first started. Just goes to show that even though its essentially just hitting balls with sticks, it does still take a huge amount of natural talent and coaching to reach an elite level.
kingfox Posted 24 April 2019 Posted 24 April 2019 After the drama we've witnessed over past two days it would be funny if we end up getting a Bingham vs Trump final. Anyway Thepchaiya will be kicking himself, he missed the boat. Fair play to Judd though, a very bold shot to kickstart which ended up being a match clinching break.
RowlattsFox Posted 24 April 2019 Posted 24 April 2019 I know form has been iffy this year but Murphy v Robertson and Trump v Ding are interesting 2nd round matches.

I agree, you could get 1000 young kids and train them everyday and the chances are none would make it close to professional level. Must have been amazing for the likes of trump/o'sullivan to discover they had a natural talent for the sport. Making 147's when they were 14/15. I wonder if all of us have a hidden talent, most of whom will never discover it.
ren Posted 24 April 2019 Posted 24 April 2019 Always thought if i was to be world class at a sport by choice it'd be snooker, behind the obvious football.
Nalis Posted 25 April 2019 Author Posted 25 April 2019 With Ronnie and Allen out, I hope the winner of Trump /Ding wins it, 2 of the best players ever who havent won the world title.
Innovindil Posted 25 April 2019 Posted 25 April 2019 Gwon Murphy, class asking for the screen to be raised for the other side. ARGH, unlucky!

Voll Blau Posted 26 April 2019 Posted 26 April 2019 Good game going on between Robertson and Murphy here.
ren Posted 27 April 2019 Posted 27 April 2019 Cahill still in with a chance today, put money on him at 2/1 just before he pulled it back to 7-7.
EastAnglianFox Posted 27 April 2019 Posted 27 April 2019 Selby back to 10-10 but still playing some strange stuff at times
foxfanazer Posted 27 April 2019 Posted 27 April 2019 Hard work for Selby. Wilson playing some good matchplay snooker
isaidno Posted 27 April 2019 Posted 27 April 2019 If this goes to 13-12, surely they won't be able to finish this afternoon?
EastAnglianFox Posted 27 April 2019 Posted 27 April 2019 Selby looks up at his box more often than he's potting balls at the minute
String fellow Posted 27 April 2019 Posted 27 April 2019 Selby looks really out of sorts. His shot selections, accuracy, and pace of the cue ball all look questionable at times.
Izzy Posted 27 April 2019 Posted 27 April 2019 Gutted that Selby is out. Not bothered who wins it now tbh
kingfox Posted 27 April 2019 Posted 27 April 2019 Wilson matched him and deservingly won. Selby's opponents don't fear him nowadays, his safety play especially nowadays is bang average.
