HybridFox Posted 22 April 2019 Posted 22 April 2019 We never got no bloody advantage when we were the only English team left in the Champions League (our first campaign!). Had a dead rubber against Everton played Sunday at 4pm Always for the big clubs
dyanmark Posted 23 April 2019 Posted 23 April 2019 Just speaking to a pal whos daughter works at City and they have had to cancel a function booked for 200 on Sunday probably thick end of £20k and all manner of agro for the poor people who have had to try to find another venue. Not easy for anyone and shouldn't really happen with the Euro game on the Thursday.
Chrysalis Posted 23 April 2019 Posted 23 April 2019 is it that big a deal? some of us for whatever reason cannot attend games so sky is our avenue to watch our team.

Yeah it’s a ****ing huge deal if you find yourself out of pocket because of the following:- a) travel cost b) work shifts/pay c) annual leave d) ticket cost The game was on sky regardless. The fact it’s televised isn’t the issue. The issue is the late change of the fixture date after already been announced as a relocated date
Chrysalis Posted 23 April 2019 Posted 23 April 2019 Is a fair point I guess, club should probably compensate for travel costs and such. I suppose my post was harsh.
Corky Posted 23 April 2019 Posted 23 April 2019 Given 12pm on Sunday was always available, why not put it at that time originally and avoid this nonsense? Something needs to be done about this for next season, we aren't the only match affected.
red5 Posted 23 April 2019 Posted 23 April 2019 You don't become a billionaire by giving the plebs there money back.

HybridFox Posted 23 April 2019 Posted 23 April 2019 Surprised more isn't being made of the dinosaur rule for 3pm TV blackouts. Getting rid of that for a start would at least give sky options without having to move. (although still likely to f**** us off )
foxinsocks Posted 24 April 2019 Posted 24 April 2019 Oh no i am trapped on the beach in florida.. i coukd make 4pm... but 12pm is impossible. .... might as well have another cold laguittas

I'd say so yes. Whilst we're being screwed over, having read the Man City forum some of their supporters have been absolutely shafted. Given it's their final home game of the season and depending on circumstances with how the remaining games play out that potentially they could be crowned Champions should they beat us, they have some fans from around the world who have arranged to attend as they didn't want to miss out on seeing the trophy presentation. I've seen a couple of posts from people in America and Australia who booked flights and hotels based on the original fixture date only for it to be changed and left hundreds/thousands of pounds out of pocket as they can't get refunds. Considering the PL tries to reach out to a global audience I can't imagine that such changes are very endearing.
ren Posted 24 April 2019 Posted 24 April 2019 Buzzing for "sky TV is fvcking shit" to get belted out by both sets of fans. Subsequently to be muted out by Sky.
David Hankey Posted 24 April 2019 Posted 24 April 2019 The fact in all of this is that TV dominates, they are the paymasters and they call the tune. No, I don't like it at all as I am a very much a traditionalist, 3.00 pm Saturday kick offs, but on the other hand football clubs want/need the money so it's put up or shut up!!
Spudulike Posted 24 April 2019 Posted 24 April 2019 They want the money. They don't need the money I'm getting ever closer to not being an active fan. The tipping point is moving closer.
Guest ttfn Posted 24 April 2019 Posted 24 April 2019 Everybody moans about it but nobody does anything about it. Back in the title winning season the Arsenal game got moved to the Sunday a 12pm for TV at 3 weeks’ notice (3 weeks after the TV games had been announced). People were up in arms. A boycott of the first 10 minutes was organised, which was attended by about 15 people in the concourse. People evidently decided that their anger at the kick off move didn’t extend far enough to give up 10 minutes of watching their team (in an admittedly crucial game). The only thing which will make them change their ways is empty stadiums. German fans had great success getting rid of Monday night games with concentrated efforts to boycott periods of (or whole) matches.

Yeah I agree, if TV companies dont give a shit about the corporate seats near the half way line at Wembley being empty for about 15 mins each half then they wont give a shit about a minor boycott in the corner of the stadium.
grobyfox1990 Posted 24 April 2019 Posted 24 April 2019 Switch off sky and BT, don't renew your extortionate packages, then they will listen. Everything is freely available on platforms such as IPTV at great quality anyway. I've heard some of these TV packages cost £50+ per month!! That is insane money to spend, they are taking the p1ss.
urban fox Posted 24 April 2019 Posted 24 April 2019 Then just to make it worse they have the bloody cheek to block illegal streaming so that people actually have to pay to watch the game that they now have useless tickets for as they can't get to the rearranged game.
